Ok, so here’s the deal. Not too long ago I read the first book in the Eli Arnold Series, titled ELI ARNOLD AND THE KEYS TO FOREVER: IT’S ABOUT TIME written by author John Carter and I was HOOKED! I don’t even have the words to explain how much I enjoyed these books, but I will try. First off, it is definitely hard to put this book down. It is fast paced, quick, witty, and–not to mention–hilarious! Second: Not only is John Carter’s style of writing perfectly e

The second ELI ARNOLD book takes us to Ancient Greece, where we meet among others, Archimedes the inventor of the first death ray, and who likes to shriek EUREKA every time he discovers something. Eli, along with Princess Pitter Pat now has more than a few things to do, like rescue Merv from the past, as well as find his brother and return Pat to her home time. He also needs to find the third key to forever and is impeded along every step of the way. Teaming up with a great group of characters, ...more

What a magical read! John Carter has an incredible imagination which never fails to surprise. I loved the first book and the second is even better. The setting of the second book is simply amazing. I didn’t know what character I would meet when I turned the page. The author has taken real life characters and mythological ones and woven them together seamlessly for a twisting and turning tale that keeps you spellbound.

I particularly like the subtle changes in Eli. He is still quite a cocky kid, b

I read John Carter's 1st book in this series and thoroughly enjoyed the book, so I knew that this book would be even better. It did not disappoint.

'Mythology' shows off Carter's ability to weave an exciting tale, while still developing Eli's character and keeping young readers enthralled. I enjoyed the addition of mythology as a theme from book 2. I have been a mythology fan since I was a kid, myself. It was great for my young son to learn some of the myths and characters from that genre.

by John Carter

Eli Arnold is back in the second book in this series. He is still trying to find his missing brother. As he tries to find the keys to forever, his brother and his way home, he comes across many obstacles and makes some new friends.

Filled with adventure, mythical Gods & creatures, such as Hades and Medusa this was a page turner. Middle school readers as well as Young adult and adult readers should enjoy this fun

This was a fantastic read, and a vast improvement on the first book in the series (not that the first book was bad in the least bit).

Combine history, mythology, humor, and a vivid imagination and you'll be stuck with your eyes glued to this book! Highly recommended to middle-schoolers and people of all ages.

This book certainly leaves you thirsty for the continuation of the story in the following books. I'm very eager to read what happens next.

As soon as my kids and I finished reading book one, we picked up Book Two and were not disappointed. The action picks up right where it left off in Book One. John Carter keeps the humor going as well! A great read. My kids are already asking me to check for Book Three. Hurry up, Mr. Carter! 5 stars.

By day, I'm an attorney. By night, I'm whatever I want to be. No rules to follow, no procedures. Those are the things I hate about practicing law. Those things really irritate me. So, I started writing books for children and middle grade readers where none of the rules and regulations apply. There are no limits on the imagination - no rules that have to be followed. I love writing for that reason ...more
