This is a fun little book about some alternative twenty somethings. I have read it numerous times, and I have passed it around two diffrent High Schools. As you can see it has been awhile since I read it.
My sister even had one of her teachers read the first couple of pages to demonstrate to the class good descriptive writing.

young adults, mis-fits
My expectations were probably too high from the beginning. Decent writing- having read it so long ago, some images linger, but over all- just okay. Set in Portland OR, the "party" or "rave" scenes are probably why I picked it up in the first place, having been enmeshed in the scene myself in the early 90's.

Not good. I only finished the book because I hate leaving books unfinished. I wouldn't recommend it, and thought it was a waste of my time.

Picked up this book when I was in my phase of interesting titles. It's a great travel story. If you're slightly lost... great read.

Twenty-somethings floundering (and foundering) in their passive sort of search for a meaningful existence in almost-modern America.

The only thing that really stuck out was that it took place all around portland.... and a guy on the bus read it too.

This was a decent "aimless urban young person" type of easy reading. Nice fucking title, retard.

unexpectedly harsh in quite a few places, but otherwise, pretty decent.

Found out it was made into a movie with Luke Wilson and Jack Black.
