"Fighting Warsow is an extraordinary human story. This could be a very important book if it was better written and better translated. The Polish Underground State is a subject that truly deserves to be told, as it was the most magnificent achievement of resistance during WW II - perhaps of any war. Recommends it for: anyone interested in the history of WW2 in Eastern Europe
I have read other books on this subject but this one is a classic, very sad and distressing in parts. Stefan was one of the main leaders of the Polish underground resistance during the Nazi occupation and this book details his happiness, sadness and despair. This book touched my heart so much that Stefan and his wife Zofia are heroes that I will never forget.
