I read this a long time ago.
As is normal on goodreads, I started clicking at random trough my friends shelf, then going trough the ratings…blah blah…
Eventually I landed on the page that had The Adultery club.

There I saw, to my shock, that people like this book and rate it moderately high.
I guess there are women (because lets face it, this is a chick lit book) out there who get off on the adultery and cheating theme.

I don’t. It’s a real life factor and I understand it, but my romance radar is bro

I read cheating romance cause i am interested to see how the characters learn from their mistakes and how they change for good but this story is how people make mockery of their marriage vows instead of being mature and adult they act worse then teenagers,Nick knows what he is doing is wrong and is also ashamed but still he keeps on carrying the affair,Sara keeps lying and Mai instead of confronting chooses to be in denial and embarks on her affair with Trace

Nick and Mai are married have 3 daugh

absolute rubbish! the tagline reads : A wife. A husband. A mistress. Whose side will you be on? NONE! The wife is a moron, the mistress is an even bigger moron and the husband is only thinking with his you know what. And seriously, the wife takes him back? SERIOUSLY? crap. [but that's just my humble opinion :-)]

A well written book on the tragedies of adultery. Emotional and at times thought provoking on how split second decisions can torture the ones we love. It was very funny in parts as the children get up to their antics before their world is turned upside down and the cracks appear in their parents marriage. They become victims of the emotional turmoil that exists around them whilst the women who has caused their upset becomes painfully aware of what she has started and reaps more pain than she cou ...more

See I have read some of the previous reviews for this book saying its unrealistic, but for me I don't think it is I know lots of people who have had their heart ripped out but an adulterous affair and still gone back to their spouse. I thought the writing was brilliant loved that it was written in the three people POV, and after all it's an extremely touchy subject to write about so I'm guessing maybe the author has se experience in the field, for me I thought it was a good book and one I would ...more

First, let me note something: Look at my reviews. I don't really review books I'm not passionate about or really enjoy, because I just don't feel it's necessary as most others have covered it and I don't always have the time to write a review that doesn't really matter to me. Although, to be honest, I don't find THAT many books I don't at least moderately enjoy.

So when I say that this is the single worst fiction book I have ever encountered in my entire existence, please know I am not saying th

I'm a big fan of Tess Stimson, and find her writing style involving and interesting.

The Adultery Club is a very honest account of, well, someone committing adultery and the ensuing effects. Told from the perspective of the husband, wife and mistress, you get a really well rounded story of the age old 'love triangle'.

I was a little disappointed with the ending, but I guess that is the romantic side of me coming out, not wanting the...well, I don't want to spoil it for you! Let's just say, in real

I came across this book as I was standing in line at my local post office. I was bored and started reading the back of the book to get an idea of what it was all about. Later that day I went to my favourite second-hand book store and saw the book again. I decided to get it and I couldn't put it down. I loved how the author really went into detail about the affair and about the feelings of the characters. It was almost as if I was watching from a distance as the story line unfolded.

A book about a love triangle, an apparently happy couple an a co-worker who is demonstrating that that happiness, after all, isn't that certain. It shows a

I deliberately didn't read all the comments so as not to spoil the suspense, so I wasn't really sure what I was getting myself into. I expected a bit of fluff and was surprised by how thought-provoking I found this. I particularly relished the way the situations were perceived by the different characters and from the different points of view, sometimes mirror images, sometimes more like distorted fun house mirrors, often using the same phrasing and metaphors to describe something.
I have to admit

I have to say the premise of this story got me curious and it was on special offer so I decided to pick it up. It took me a while to get into this story. In fact I put it down and left it for months on end. I don't mind the adultery theme because I wanted to believe that the characters were redeemable and would do the right things in the end. After all, who is perfect? But honestly I don't think they did redeem themselves. All in all, an okay read.

I wouldn't say it was the best book, I've read in my life. I just picked it up in charity shop a few days ago, because I needed something to read in the evening and I was looking for something light and easy to read. As it turned out, this wasn't very light to read and really dragged me in, because I could relate to this so much. This is a story much known to a lot of people. Husband is having an affair, mistress thinks she is in control and both of them are in just for a fun ride, but in the en ...more

I wanted a read that was a bit of a chick flick, something not too serious. Despite my initial reservations, I really enjoyed this book.

I took a instant dislike to Sara, I adored Malinche and was glad Nicholas saw the error of his ways, despite it probably being a little predictable.

Gripping! I started this yesterday and I just had to finish it today. The book has POV chapters for the main characters. And when you get to the end of one with an exciting ending, the next chapter will turn out to be another character and it will go over some stuff thats already happened. At first I found this annoying but then I saw how clever this technique was. I kept turning those pages! The plot was good. I liked Mal the most so naturally I despised Sara. Although I could see both sides. N ...more

Oh God! It was like reading a bad Jackie Collins novel. The plot is non-existent just lots of sex written very crudely.I hated all the characters and didn't feel sorry for any of them. Unless you like a soft porn novel, avoid!

This book took forever to finish. Hard at times to read due to the English dialogue. It was ok in parts.
Kathy
I liked this book...it could be a little confusing in the beginning b/c the chapters are from each of the 3 main characters' point of view. It was insightful to see what each person thought of the very same incident...whether it was an accidental meeting at a restaurant or a pending divorce. Just goes to show that what's being presented on the outside is not necessarily indicative of what is going on in someone's head. And, in case you were ever wondering about cheating on your spouse, this book ...more

Ladies~This is the book to take with you in carpool line, to the Dr's Appointments, to have while waiting in line in the grocery store and other daily activities. I LOVED this book and it was the perfect novel to start off another *steamy* summer in Atlanta. My copy was given to me by the Reading Group Choices website-THANK YOU! I highly recommend this to Desparate Housewives fans, Harlequin enthusiasts, and to just plain ol' sassy babes. Have fun Ladies!!!!!

Tess Stimson is such a talented writer. She knows how to write in such a way that has you hanging on the edge of your seat throughout.
I particularly love how she gives you such clarity into each character by letting each character have a chance to tell their side of the store through the entire book.
This book reminds you of the consequences of adultery, and even though you may not end up with a boiled rabbit, it's still just not good for anyone involved.

So it's the perspective of the mistress, wife and husband. I loved that. It made it difficult to automatically hate the man and the mistress when faced with their insecurities and challenges. The author presents the characters and their flaws and really allows the reader to draw conclusions about how each person handled the affair. Curious And thought provoking commentary on something that happens much too often.

This is the first book I have read by Tess Stinson, and with the subject of adultery, it was a good read! I am not someone who would forgive and forget, I found myself sympathizing for all the characters! Tess presented the different points of view in such a way that you felt you could be friends with any of them given different circumstances! If given the chance I will read other books by Tess!

Great book ... infuriating and redeeming. Delves into the difficult topic of adultery in a grown up and real way, accurately depicting the impacts to all sides. You get a little steamy romance novel, and an ending that comes full circle and doesn't leave you angry. Some really funny parts that had me giggling. I couldn't put it down. Looking forward to going to bed early for the first time this week!

People often are not very sure of what they want in their lives. The truth is, there is always missing piece- whatever you have , is never enough...But sometimes, whatever you didn't know you already have is everything you ever needed. You might doubt yourself in the process, but you always know at the end. Everything is not for everyone. The choice is yours.

I enjoyed this book. The author has explained the true emotions one goes through quite well, having experienced it myself.
Possibly a bit of a rushed ending. I cant imagine forgiving the other person so quickly and giving myself back to that person quite as easily. Easy read though and interesting to read the other persons possible point of view.

In the first 15 pages erections are referenced three times. And homophobia.
I got to page 60 before I put it down in annoyance. Right around the time that the author uses the choice word tauten. For God's sake. The dialogue is disturbing, vacillating between unbelievable and downright crap.
Thank goodness I only paid 25 cents for it.
