How to transform a house already beautiful in itself, in the house of dreams through excessive use of pillows, upholstery and various vessels of all shapes and sizes. Not that there is not the result, but in my humble opinion these American are "too loaded".

Come trasformare una casa giá bella di per sé, nella casa dei sogni attraverso un uso smodato di cuscini, tappezzerie varie e vasi di tutte le forme e dimensioni. Non che il risultato non ci sia, ma a mio modo di vedere queste case americane

Not a bad book, but I also wasn't overly impressed either. Beautiful pictures and some nice ideas; just didn't seem to be terribly original either. Somewhat felt like just another good decorating book, nothing out of this world special.

Mary Carol Garrity's interior design style is classic yet comfortable. In her Nell's Hill stores in Atichson, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri she creates tableaux of idealized rooms. Her team also work directly with clients and Nell Hill's Rooms We Love is a celebration of that work.

One of Gartity's signature techniques is adding a but of the outdoors inside whether it is an urn full of greenery or an arrangement of seasonal produce. She is also a fan of combining antiques and collectibles with

I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book on Net Galley.

Beautiful inspiration photos for those who like "modern country," "shabby chic," or whatever it's being called these days. The pictures are all realistic and rooms that you can imagine yourself living in, nothing too overly polished or artificial. There is also a nice "portfolios" addition at the end that allows you to see all the rooms in the house on 2 pages, giving you a more complete idea of the home. Recommended for a flip thro

Truly inspirational ideas for someone as decorating-challenged as myself.

This is an inspiration book. I've been looking at several of these lately. They aren't things I would necessarily do but they are things that make me think about how I live. Decorating is not a talent of mine so I need guidance and these type of books make me look at my stuff in new ways. This particular book focuses on 4 houses specifically. While they are different types of houses, they are all decorated in what I would consider "traditional." To me that means partly elegant, partly cozy.

This beautiful book would look good on any coffee table, but it is not just decorative. Anyone interested in furnishing and decorating their homes will find this book inspirational and full of useful insights and tips. The rooms in this book are elegant, beautiful and functional and show how people can apply Mary Carol Garrity's principles of decorating, which include finding an unexpected delight in each room and bringing the outside inside.

Nell Hill's Rooms We Love shows how clever decorators

Thanks to Netgalley.com and Andrews McMeel Publishing for early access to this title.

3 1/2 stars - Some very nice rooms here, in the traditional style. This isn't the style I enjoy the most, but there are a lot of good ideas to take away here. The "Design Book" at the back was a bit disappointing - its essentially all the pictures you've already seen in the rest of the book, grouped according to the house they came from. I was hoping for a bit more along the lines of "create this in your own hom

Nothing new in this "portfolio" of rooms. While beautifully photographed there is no resource list of paint colors, retailers, web sources etc if you are interested in duplicating the design ideas. Also this book has photos of one of the strangest decorating ideas I've ever seen, a home owner had all of her books on her built in bookshelves covered in a Burberry style plaid paper. I'm guessing they don't read.
Pretty book to skim through but I don't recommend buying.

This is one of those books with a lot of pretty pictures of staged rooms which are fun to look at but don't really make you want to walk in and settle down to relax and go about living. The stuff of superlatives and impractical indulgence obviously backed with a lot of money

Gorgeous rooms. Clearly high-end but I love looking through decorating books for fun and possible ideas, and this definitely fit in.

Lovely read and will definitely be coming back to look through the pictures.

Lots of stuffy, formal rooms that feel fussy and crowded. No warmth. Definitely nothing in here that I would want in my house.
Barbara
I liked the pictures. Would I decorate my rooms that way? No--just too messy, full of useless junk. But I did like the curtain rods--simple--going to use them in my new house.
