I've never read a witch story before, but trusted this author enough to try it. I wasn't surprised that I enjoyed it, but amazed with her writing skills and how believable she makes everything. I couldn't wait to start on the next book.

I liked this book. I like that it's different angle on having magic. The story is just beginning. Must go start book 2 now.
Clean, paranormal, romance

4.5 stars

Paranormal books have never been a favorite of mine...maybe that's why this book took me by surprise as much as it did. I really enjoyed it!
Sarah is an outcast. Her mother passed away at a young age and she was left to be raised by her aunt. She is convinced she has psychokinesis....but her aunt keeps trying to convince her that they are witches. She is completely uncomfortable in her home, at school,...and with her life in general...until she meets Zane. Someo

I really can't remember ever reading a book about witches. If I have then they must not have been very memorable. However, that has now changed after reading Freak of Nature! It was not what I was expecting at all and I loved it!

When Sarah was 5 years old her mom died and she was placed in the care of her aunt, Lena. When she hit her teen years she became the outcast.. the Freak of Nature. She had so much power around her that she had no clue what to do with it or how to control it. Her aunt ha

Finally a YA paranormal book that isn't irritating! This book was so refreshing! The main character, Sarah, was level headed and I actually liked her! Most of the paranormal book I have read lately have the most irritating, stupid, whiny main characters. Sometimes I can't even finish the book because I can't stand it. But this book wasn't like that at all! Sarah is strong and smart. She has had a hard childhood, but she doesn't where it on her sleeve. Then comes Zane, the new kid. Of course they ...more

I didn't realize this was a YA Paranormal story, since all of the authors other books all had adult leads (aka Shannon Guymon). Once I wrapped my head around it, I was able to get into the story.

Sarah is a witch, but has grown up never really knowing her heritage. She puts off a weird energy that keeps people away and therefore doesn't have a lot of friends. Then one day Zane shows up and is instantly drawn to her. And her quiet life is suddenly over. I liked the overall plot and characters. A

When I read the title of this book it didn't capture my interest, but then I read what it was about because the cover did. I have to say... it was truly amazing. The characters are captivating and interesting. The cliffhanger ending surprised me. I didn't do my research! Now I can't wait for the next book to see what happens. The story flowed so well I didn't want to put the book down.

This is one of those shocker type of books. Most often when I end up getting a freebie, it is a hit or miss. This one was a hit. Right off the gate I fell in love with Sarah's snarky humor. Remember she is not a She is just one girl who can do a few things I only wish I could dream of. Throw in a aunt who is extremely psycho, one yummy boy, a family reunion 18 years overdue and you have a great entertaining novel.
It has a great blend of suspense, romance and drama. I found it ver
Merissa (Archaeolibrarian)
This book follows the story of Sarah, an 18 year old who admits to having Psychokinesis but refuses to admit anything else.

This book is a rarity in the fact that Sarah is actually likeable and doesn't seem to have too many flaws (apart from the inability to admit that she's a witch) and doesn't whinge and whine all the way through the book. She also deals with things that fall in her lap instead of just waiting the main male to deal with her problems for her. Now don't get me wrong, Zane WANTS

Thrilling and enchanting

I was swept up in this story of a freak of nature that turned out to be a naive witch. I just hope that now after being alone most of her life and not knowing who she really is doesn't turn deadly. Get caught up in this page turner and magical world

I really liked this book. It was closer to 4 stars but we don't have an option. It took me a little while to get through it as parts of it were just so drawn out but it was really good. I am ready to read the next one now!

Are you fucking kidding me, more mawkish shit? Also, the romance? Yeah, it was a hot ass mess. The instant love and chemistry just made me nauseated. I don't see how you could fall in love with someone you don't even know. But it was Zane who thought he could sweep her off her feet so easily, but at least Sarah had the sense to say "No, Zane. We only just met, so I'm gonna put your ass in the friend zone where it belongs for the time being."

Just barely made 4 stars. It was a perfect book for distraction, I felt like I could put it down and walk away, but when I wanted to be distracted it was there for me. A good clean fast read too! I thought it was more than a little twilight-esque in cheesiness but I like that kind of stuff!
