Feeling Lucky?
This slapstick with heart invites affection for its loyal, charming, off-the-cuff characters.
The merry band of misfits in D. L. Williams’s debut novel won’t let a little bad luck get them down. The characters in Pennies from Hell, a light, entertaining comedy of errors, are undaunted by the odds stacked against them and are eternally optimistic about their prospects for the future. All they have to do is get rich, and what easier way to do that than to win the lottery? How hard ca

Outstanding character development. For a first time author, Mr Williams has "an act" for bringing the reader directly into the series of events. Each character could be a neighbor or a family member. Drama, humor, realistic follow-through, and, of course, an ending that "pleases" are prime ingredients of a book worth reading. Title could warrant reconsideration to perhaps "Pennies keep Falling."

This is a great read! A story filled with humor, friendship, odd folks! I so enjoyed the ride and laughed out loud.
Mr. Williams has a wonderful gift for words. A must read....

Definitely a fun read -- great imagination in fantasy romp trying to win the lottery, what to do with unexpected riches, and the kind of friendships we all appreciate -- peopled with characters that could have come from 'The Birdcage' or 'To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar' (both are movies I loved). I wouldn't suggest it to my grandmother nor hand it to any Y/A readers -- it's an adult subject. But it is well done as a story line. Would make a great 'Birdcage' style movie.
