The end of the road for Todd and Elizabeth?

One of the strictest rules in the Wakefield house is "No motorcycles." Ever since their cousin was killed in a crash, Elizabeth and Jessica have been forbidden to go near them. So when Elizabeth's boyfriend Todd drives up on a shiny new Yamaha, she knows there's trouble ahead. She can't ride Todd's bike, but other girls can and d

To me, Dangerous Love is the quintessential SVH book. It has our first real cliffhanger and enough Liz angst to float a boat. It is yet another book where Jessica expresses remorse for being Jessica and vows to change (and never does). I probably read this one and "Dear Sister" a dozen times or more when I was a kid, and enjoyed every minute of re-reading it again today.

And what did we learn in our re-read?

Motorcycles = Death Machine (don't ride 'em kids -- you'll end up in a

What I learned from this book: don't disobey your parents or you'll end up in a coma and avoid guys named 'Crunch' at all cost.
'why am I still reading these?' you ask. the answer: I just don't know.

Laugh out loud funny. And embarrassing, as I read much of this in public. The Dairi Burger adds the "hot clam special" to their menu. Liz almost dies after being hit by a drunk driver. Of course, Todd and Jessica feel responsible. What?

I can't decide if Mr. Collins is hot or creepy, which I fear is the whole point.

The best volume of this series I've read so far! It combines elements of an old-school sitcom with a dramatic serial! I'm glad I have the next few books on hand!

Title: Dangerous Love
Series: Sweet Valley High #6

Well, smack me in the face and call me hot clam special. Basically, Todd gets a motorbike. Liz and Jess' cousin Rexy died on a motorbike. They don't get on them. But other girls gets on Todd's. Liz gets jealous. She gets on. She ends up in a coma.

The morals of this story stood as:

*Listen to your parents
*Don't be a jealous girlfriend
*Your english te

If you don't do what your parents say, you'll eventually end up in a coma. This is what I learned.
An angst-ridden time is had when Todd gets a motorcycle. Liz had a cousin who was killed in a bike accident and her parents have forbidden the twins to ride motorcycles.

Everybody oohs-and-ahhhs over the bike and Liz is stricken with jealousy, especially of all the girls getting a ride to the Dairi Burger on Todd's motorcycle, with their arms flung around him.

Todd is ready to sell his bike and Elizabeth changes her mind and decides to take one ride. This culminates in Liz needing a ride due to J

Obviously Todd would never leave Elizabeth because she can't ride his motorcycle, but as someone who is extremely jealous and possessive, I can understand Elizabeth's fear. I'm surprised she went riding with him in the end though. That definitely seemed more like a Jessica thing to do. I'm surprised she didn't cite all the times Jessica's broken rules when she did this.

I hate how Jessica is now like, "Omg I've taken my sister for granted! I'm going to be a better person!" when we all know that w
The twins' cousin killed in a motorcycle wreck was named.... Rex. Haha!

So Todd is having sex with all the girls in town except for Elizabeth, so she gets jealous and has sex with him anyway, and gets herpes. Substitute "motorcycle rides" for "sex" and "coma" for "herpes" and you've got the whole plot. Except the part where Enid has this non-sequitur debutante ball, which was obviously needed to fatten up the book.

Alice and Ned Wakefield let their daughters get away with almost anything, but they have one firm household rule: no motorcycles. Apparently the twins' cousin died young in a motorbike accident, and their parents would prefer that they didn't follow in his footsteps. It's one of the few rules that Jess is happy to keep, so obviously it's up to Liz to break it. And, of course it's Todd's fault.

Todd's wanted a motorbike forever, and finally he manages to trade in his car for a magnificent new hog

Sometimes you just need to re-read some classic Sweet Valley. Short of the first book and book #7, it's hard to find anything more classic than The Time Todd Nearly Killed Liz.

Upon re-reading it for the four-billionth time, I am once more struck by the incredibly stupid logic paraded around when the Wakefields throw Todd Wilkins out of the waiting area and Mr. Collins tries to assure Todd it wasn't his fault.

I know the 80's were a different time, but yeah. Yeah it was. Saturday night, after midn

This book was emotionally packed and drama filled. I loved it though. All Sweet Valley books seem to have a drama filled story with relatable dilemas and sound advice. I feel teenagers should read it. Some of the books may help them through problems they face. Even if it's as simple as realizing they aren't alone. Others face the problems they face too. Warning, this book has a bit of a cliff hanger. It's best to have the next book ready!

In this Sweet Valley High Todd gets a motorcycle. Elizabeth can't ride motorcycles because her cousin, Rexy, died in an accident. Todd's bike almost tears their relationship apart. This was a very good Sweet Valley High. I didn't expect the ending. It was very sad and nerve racking. Highly recommend this Sweet Valleyy High, very good.

The Sweet Valley Books changed my life in the 5th and 6th grade. My friends and I would coordinate so that we could read all of the books. I remember reading them along with the BSC. As we got a little older, we also got to enjoy the TV Show. I enjoyed these books.

This was like a pure shot of Sweet Valley straight to the brain. Jealousy! An elaborate party! A motorcycle of doom! Twin premonitions! The euphemistic-sounding Hot Clam Special! ELIZABETH IN A COMA.

Also, this is the first book in which Jessica has any kind of inner life.

En omläsning. Läste den här i 13-års åldern och älskade den. Fortfarande bra än idag men kanske inte lika fantastisk som då.

I devoured these Sweet Valley High books when I was a young girl and am not at all surprised that they are still around! In this book, Todd Wilkins, Elizabeth's boyfriend, gets a Yamaha motorcycle, but Elizabeth and Jessica are forbidden to ride motorcycles ever since their cousin Remy was killed in a motorcycle crash. Meanwhile, other girls are riding with their arms around Todd making Elizabeth crazy with jealousy. Will Elizabeth decide to ride with Todd when Jessica forgets to pick her up fro ...more

What I learned from SVH #6:
*Mr. Collins is a leeettle too interested in teenage girls. I'm just sayin'.
*If you don't listen to your parents you'll end up in a COMA!
*"Hot clam special" sounds vaguely...pornographic.
*Jess has a satin jumpsuit. A satin. Jumpsuit. With spaghetti straps.

Loved the cover, though. Maybe they got in that accident because Todd should spend a little more time looking at, I don't know, THE ROAD???

Oh my! Liz finally decided to ride on the back of Todd's motorcycle and ended up in a coma. Jessica is at her bedside stating she will turn over a new leaf and become a better sitter. She will no longer take advantage of Liz and think of other people besides herself. This is definetly like a soap opera but I am having fun!
Motorcycle crashes have never been so hilarious.

This is where the pernicious reissues leave off, so anyone who was unironically buying and reading these would be stuck hitting up the library or the thrift store to find out of Elizabeth survives. (Spoiler: (view spoiler))

I read the first twelve in the Sweet Valley High series along with a cousin who was a preteen at the time - so we could talk about them together. Even though I was past my teenage years when I read these books, I had a lot of fun reading them. Very entertaining.

Elizabeth can't bear the fact that her boyfriend Todd has a motorcycle b/c she is not allowed to ride on it! What will she do when he starts to give other girls rides to the newly reopened Dairi Burger?? Read the book and find out!

Good lord, these books were terrible. I remember going through all the books in the Hollywood PS library, though, and after the R.L. Stines and Ann M. Martins were finished, these were the only things left.

I loved the book I thought it was a book that sucked me in I think I actually read it about five. times. I think I read it in one day for about four hours.
