Jesus recognized the potential problem of a easy believism as indicated in John 8:30-31, he gave us the Sermon on the Mount. That addresses our heart issue. MacArthur does a wonderful job in the progression of the Beatitudes. It is not after about what men can do but what men are. Because what flows from the heart, is the motive, and the good works that are by faith in not of our own. This book was excellent! And extremely convicting. Don't read if you want to remain a mediocre, comfortable Christian...
