Historical examination of western influence on nineteenth century India. I read it more for the Einstein/Tagore meeting of the minds. Sadly, this meeting is more of a analogy device to explore said western influence on Indian science.

On its merits, the author rambles a bit here and there and the writing style is bored grad student. It's okay for what it is, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Helped me clarify some of my own thoughts.
