Sr. Chief Stan Wolchonok, SEAL team 16's own Mr. Fix-It, witnesses Teri Howe (one of the best pilots in the Naval Reserves) being sexually harassed and wonders why she doesn't deck the guy? It turns out, Teri has a problem with assertiveness. So Stan takes it upon himself to work with Teri on assertiveness training. And even though he is madly in love/lust with her himself, he also undertakes to fix her up with a nice young man who can treat her well.

In the meantime, a group of terrorists, hijac...more

I really enjoyed Teri and Stan's story. Becoming friends who are thrown into a rescue mission tests their desires for each other. This was a pretty good page turner. You will al so see Sam and Alyssa in this book and meet some new friends as well.

Sexy, lots of action, great characters with lots of personality. If you read any of the Troubleshooters series you MUST read them all. I high recommend it.

This book had it all:
*Love
*suspense
*drama
*hot military men and women
*heartbreaking WWII story
*Epic battle

This book was a major improvement over the last two in the series. My mind was literally blown with all the action and back and forth between the characters in this book. These men and women are flawed... to the the point of being so realistic that I found myself with tears in my eyes when one of them was injured or hurting.

Brockmann's ability to weave the...more

This is a complex, involved story centering on the men of the Navy SEAL Team Sixteen Troubleshooters Squad. There is an airplane hijacking, a tense hostage situation, and a group of very skilled, very dedicated men and women working very hard to rescue the innocent passengers trapped on the airplane.

There are several love stories going on throughout this book, including a flashback story-within-the-story about the Holocaust in Denmark during World War II.

This is a gripping, emotional story.

went back to book which is the third in the series after starting Breaking Point and realizing there was a back story to the fabulous FBI Negotiator Max Bhagat, whom is a very memorable character, and this story featuring Max did not disappoint. I can't wait to get back to finish where I left off in "Breaking Point" (book 9) that I started where Max made a smashing entrance early in his career and steels your heart. This is my first Suzanne Brockmann book and it won't be my last as I plan on re...more

Book 3 in the Troubleshooters series

I really enjoy SB's writing, she simply keeps me intrigued throughout each book. This is a series that, to get the most enjoyment from, must be read in order. I'm reading the series a 2nd time at this point but when I was...more

Now that I know to expect a WWII story mixed with a modern day story, I kind of like it. Or maybe I just like this one better than the last. I thought Helga was an interesting character, and I really enjoyed how the author portrayed how someone must feel when faced with Alzheimer's.

I was really hoping to figure out the mystery behind Sam Starret and Alyssa Locke, but I suppose that's left to their own story -- which is so many books away! Alyssa didn't quite aggravate me as much as she did in bo...more

Another great entry into the Troubleshooters series, being the third book in. This one is about Stan and Teri, an interesting pairing since the H is quite a deal older than the h. This contributes to the trouble they have getting together. Plus the fact the H doesn't think he's goodlooking enough since the h is very pretty.

The action in the book is second to none and had me on the edge of my seat. There were some sad parts to the book and at one stage I cried, and in other parts I was quite anx...more

Wow, wow, wow! This is the one that has cemented me as a fan of the Troubleshooter series and of Suzanne Brockmann.

Here are the things I liked:

Senior Chief Stan Wolchonok. I fell in love with Stan. He's not your typical pretty boy hero. Compared to his comrades, he is the ugly one, the not-so-interesting one. But in actuality, he is the backbone of the whole team. He is the one they call when they need help. He is the one everyone depends on. And when the beautiful helo pilot Teri Howe comes to...more

I loved this one ...so many couples and so much action and drama. Stan and Terri were just wonderful. I loved Stan's I can fix anything attitude even if it costs him his love. The speech he gives to Muldoon as he's trying to convince Muldoon to bed Teri was touching and yet so funny becuase here he is pouring his heart out while trying to peruade his friend to sleep with the girl he is in love with. Max and Gina are an intriguing couple what with the age difference and the luggage of how they me...more

I was willing to keep reading in hopes it would get better but it didn’t. It fizzled - air going out of a balloon.

STORY BRIEF WITH SOME OPINION:
There are about six stories being told. Three of them are romantic relationships. Two of these have sad endings. The main romance has a happy ending.

Teri is a young helicopter pilot who has been sexually harassed at work. She has trouble standing up for herself. Stan is a 39-year-old SEAL who tries to help her. He fixes her up with a nice young man Mike,...more

If this were a different genre, I'd probably react differently to the over-protective he-man types running around this book, but given that it's Navy SEAL-type romantic suspense, it's to be expected. (It'd be like complaining about magical elements in PNR.)

Anyway, the characters and dialog made sense, although they got a little heavy-handed at times. The plotting was good and the world-building was strong. The romance part was sort of focused on Stanley and Teri, but there were three or...more

Hot hot hot Navy seals. There are parts of this book that deserve a 5 star rating but it was choppy for me. Still I cant get enough of this team, I mean really where do these guys exist lol. So this book was about Terri and Stan mainly. Terri was sexually abused and I love how Stan helps her and see's that she is afraid of men in general. I actually wished there was more of that story and I loved how stan tried to push her off on Muldoon and she busts him. In the end it was exciting I really tho...more

A powerful and emotional entry to the series.

I read out of order but I wasn't quite lost as the 'new' charcters were either previously mentioned or described well enough that it was clear where and how they fit in. I must also say my quibbles with the series didn't decrease much to my chagrin. Said quibble is multiple flashbacks - they seem to take me out of the story, so I skip great chunks of them.

That being said this was a wonderful read. The featured flashback centered around holocaust victi...more

This book was by far my favorite of the early Troubleshooters books (though thanks to my library I haven't yet read #5). It was physically painful for me to put this town to do things like make dinner, go to work, and go to sleep.

The main story in this one is between Senior Chief Stan Wolchonok and pilot Teri Howe who find themselves in K-stan for a situation involving a hijacked plan and a young girl who terrorists believe to be a US Senator's daughter. It was this pairing that got me...I love...more

Another pretty good book by Suzanne Brockmann. I didn't think the romance between Stan and Teri was nearly as good as Tom and Kelly (unsung hero) but it was entertaining. In fact, the "relationship" between Stan and Teri almost seemed to go from 0 to 60 overnight. From he didn't ever think of her or pay attention while she was around to boom, she's wonderful, great, etc. And some of the action/dialog taking place in the middle of an airplane hijack rescue seemed strange but then this is a romanc...more

Troubleshooters #3 is Teri Howe and Stan Wolchonok's book, with a third WWII background romance and the beginning of Max and Gina's journey. And, after a long break, Sam and Alyssa end up in the same place and almost together, until an old girlfriend of Sam's steps back into the picture.

See, here's one of the brilliant things about this series. Each book has a definite hero/heroine couple (well, book 14 or so is hero/hero, but you know what I mean). And Brockmann fulfills the unspoken promise th...more

While I really liked Troubleshooters book 1 and was OK with book 2, this book - book 3 - was really something! As friends here on Goodreads told me, THIS IS THE BOOK! This is where many of the characters we've been introduced to finally "gel", and we're thrown into another nail-biting mission for SEAL Team Sixteen.

The only issue I had with this book was that, at first, I didn't realize that Helga was reminiscing about the past. And I got really, really confused!!! But the device that the author...more

I think I've read most of the Troubleshooters series. Brockmann has a her formula and she sticks with it. Obviously w/the number of books she sold, it's a good one.

Our H/h are Teri and Stan. It's fun to watch them throughout the book. As usual, Brockmann doesn't deliver her "happily ever after" until the very end of the book and as always it's due to some type of disaster, near death experience or whatever but it's still a solid read.

While I appreciate the flashbacks as I find the characters int...more

Wow so much happening all at once some stories I loved some stories I got tired of reading so it balanced things out in the end. I enjoyed Stan and Teri's story very much- especially when Teri got some gusto and took charge;) I CANNOT believe how Sam's story is ending here after all this heartache but I'm happy to read his story in his book. I got bored with Helge's story to be honest because it took too much away from the other stories- her flashbacks were nice for a while but the switch was to...more

I've taken my time warming to these books, but I can feel a strong addiction coming, particularly after reading this one. So much happened, with so many stories interwoven,a trademark, I'm learning, of an SB Troubleshooter book..
I find the plots getting stronger with each book. SB is not afraid to tackle tragedy and put her heroes and heroines through pain. I am haunted by this book, but understand why the secondary H/H's will have to wait before they will finally get their HEA's. After reading...more

I actually started this book and then had to take a break as I could see it was headed in a place I didn't care to go for the weekend. I will say this, it was a well written book if you like this sort of thing. I am not a fan of "Romantic suspense". Simply a personal preference to avoid this kind of book. Give me the real story without the drama factor of a love affair for my reading... Again, not a bad book, just not my taste and here is why... the book is based on a crisis hijacking situation...more

Oh my LORD, this book was intense. I can't stop thinking about it.

This is the third book in Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooters series & I'm officially addicted. There were the multiple plots & POVs again, but after I decided to skip the historical POV (not that it's not interesting! Just too distracting from the rest of the story) I could hardly put it down.

The main story is about a 747 that is hijacked by terrorists. The reason they chose that plane was because it had a U.S. Senator's...more

Unabridged audiobook version - review from Speaking of Audiobooks 7/19/09 column:

Narrated by Laura Hicks
Only recently released in MP3 format, this 2001 romantic suspense is one of my most loved Brockmann books. My first impression was the need of a male narrator since there are so many male characters. Many of narrator Laura Hicks’ male voices sounded girlish but I was soon so engrossed by the four story plot that I accepted the voices as portrayed. One complaint – Gina sounded way too New York-...more

Teri Howe is a fierce helo pilot but when it comes to her personal life she is a little mouse, especially when some mistakes of her past come back to haunt her.
Senior Chief Stanley Wolchonok is a navy SEAL that fixes everything and his men respect and admire him and so, when Teri comes asking for help, he put his heart at risk and help her. However, everything changes when they received a phone call about a hijacked airplane...

Again, I just love this series. It got everything, romance, hotness,...more
