Stormy Glenn is a bit of a conundrum to me. She's not a very good writer, but her stories are interesting. Maybe she's one of those people who would be great at telling a story around a campfire, but she runs into trouble when she has to put the words on paper. I'm constantly finding mistakes in her books, not just typos, but the wrong words being used. For example, she once used "perspective" when the correct word would have been "respective", then used "prospective" when it should have been "p ...more

This might very well be my favorite of the series, so far. I loved the resilience of Douglas and Jilly, ex-con and ex-hooker, who initially hooked up for convenience and definite attraction, but they ended up changing the world.

I loved seeing Douglas show everyone that his 3 years in prison weren't in vain, and he learned his lesson, not to mention spent a lot of time contemplating himself, his mistakes, his choices, and what he wanted from his life.

I was thrilled that they were able to find the

I liked this book just as much as the first four volumes, maybe even a little more. Both main characters had a lot to overcome to gain self-confidence then faced a few external obstacles that would have lesser men give up. There is just something about wounded men pulling themselves together, or a villain making up for his misdeeds, that can make a story extra-special. And here you have both! Not to mention the fact that one of them is a vampire who is allergic to seeing blood. I know I shouldn' ...more

People who hang around me will know my love for convicts and hatred for watered down versions of them. What, pray tell, is the point of making someone a convict (or as the book repeatedly tells me, an ex-convict) if they aren't at least a little psycho?

This book treats the whole hooker/convict issue like this:

Can you feel the srz?

So pointless kink device aside, the story just couldn't hold my interest. Their relationship is sealed and cemented in the first 30% of the book - or first 5%, dependin

I loved this one. I loved Jilly and Douglas together they were so sweet with each other, it's shocking how she made Douglas likable in this book.

Right off the bat... if they are mates, WHY didn't Douglas know Jilly was his mate? Aren't they supposed to know them by scent?

After mating, one of following sex scenes.. THUMBS DOWN. There are two parts that were almost directly plucked from the previous book ending. Jilly reaches satisfaction without genital touching, and then Jilly reaches down to feel where they are connected. Similarities are going to happen but to have it almost verbatim is like the author can't think of anything new.

Not really gonna say anything about the story. It's a great story that shows the cahnges that happened to Douglas over the years he spent in prison. Also shows how he now understands that you would do just about anything in order to ensure the safety of Jilly.

What i want to comment on is the fact that there's almost been whole sets of dialogue that i've read in the previous book "Redemption." It's so exact that instarted wondering if maybe i accidentally opened the wrong book (all i read are in

Hmmm, I'm on the fence about this one. As a usual case in mating, this is insta-lust. Jilly's need for reassurance in the earlier chapters was getting repetitive, it was annoying. The ending was rushed and abrupt with all the changes in the council just being told to the readers and not really shown on how it came about. I wished that the author explored more on how the slavery ring was disbanded and not just told readers it was being disbanded. But overall, the book was still likeable.

I absolutely loved Jilly. He is just too sweet to resist and while I was skeptical of Douglas at first coz hey with history who wouldn't b but he turned out to be an ok guy. He just needed to learn to make his own decision and have someone fighting in his corner.

The storyline for this book was so good, from the first words out of Jilly's mouth to the last ones out of Douglas's. There was nothing romantic about this couples first meeting. Douglas just out of prison and Jilly working the streets to survive, their first encounter was sexual in nature, in an alley, with Jilly on his knees and Douglas paying for the service. Still Jilly is unapologetic with what he has had to do to survive. The fullness of his personality, though, doesn't come out until he i ...more

My god this was sloppy work from Ms Glenn. I didn't expect much from the book other than the usual fluffy porn-with-plot. I wasn't disappointed on that front. What was disappointing was that this was literally a copy and paste job from the previous book in the series.

At first I couldn't believe that I was reading the EXACT same lines for some of the sex scenes in the book (with the names changed at least). I actually went to check the previous book, and yep, I wasn't imagining it, there were th

This is the Stormy Glenn I like. Wolf-vamp book that is a nice, light read. Cute, with some funny lines. This time we get the hooker and ex-con background which was a different start for the characters. Insta love and two characters who I instantly liked and cheered for. Douglas seemed hard to redeem from the previous books but he was so remorseful while still standing strong for his mate. He was trying to make amends to those he'd wronged and fighting for Jilly. Jilly was that fun, perky charac ...more

3,5 for an easy read
Using the same thoughts about a place for both characters was very annoying. Made me wonder if I accidentally went back in the book or something.

The possessiveness of our wolf seems pretty weak if he can ignore the smell of others on his mate. Multiple times. Or even the thought but I guess it's not a rule that wolf's are really jealous and possessive.

Didn't get the entertainment thing, the bad alpha - maybe some explaining later. Choosing Jilly accidentally seems too imposs

I enjoyed this book, but it was hard to get started. The time between this book and the previous installment was so long, i had a hard time remembering what happened in the previous books. Overall, I did enjoy it. You know what you're getting with these books.

I do need to say one thing though. Whoever edited this book dropped the ball big time. The name "Douglas" was spelled incorrectly at least six times.

This was a really good in depth story. It started out with two flawed characters growing to love each other and learning to care for one another. Then it built to learning responsibility beyond each other. Very well done. It left me wanting more about the surrounding characters which is always a good thing.

A couple of deja vu moments in the first half where one of the scenes mimics almost word-for-word a scene at the end of the fourth book. I only noticed it because I reread the first four book before reading this one. Otherwise, I really liked it.

I'm rather fond of Doug and Jilly. Knowing their background makes me like them even more. They are living past it and loving one another no matter what. Its cute and sweet. They're my fav pairing in this series so far, enough to comment anyway. Id like another story of them :)
