Julia - The Romance Bibliophile
Oh my goodness, "Bride Wanted" has left me absolutely speechless. It has been one of the best Love-Inspired novels that I've ever read. The story line was truly spectacular and quite original. The characters, especially Troy and Destiny, whom I fell immensely in love with, were phenomenal. "Bride Wanted" should be rated at least TEN stars in my book. It was a truly heartwarming and inspirational Christian romance that I will treasure near and dear to my heart forever. I'm so excited to read more ...more

Book 6

this is another excellent book for an excellent author! It's more of a fairy tale than most of her books. How many guys start writing love letters to his future wife when he's twelve, and continues for many years writing a letter once a week? The thought he puts into these letters is something I imagine a girl would write, and that adds to the interestingly greatness of this book. I found myself sighing...

Both Troy Lee and Destiny Porter were very strong characters. I like

Sometimes a girl just wants to sit down with a sweet romance and relax. That is what the Love Inspired line from Harlequin is for me. When I want to escape for a bit and not have to think to hard about what I'm reading, this is where I head. I know the Love Inspired line will keep it clean which I also appreciate.

Bride Wanted has all the typical elements that make up a great love story. Interest, attraction, doubt, misunderstanding, heartache and reconciliation.

Troy is a true southern gentleman
This book reminded me of a Hallmark channel movie! I loved it and read it in one sitting. I gave this book 5/5 stars. The story itself is pretty typical of two people misunderstanding each other and getting wires crossed. This of course leads to some great reading. It also leads them to eventually find each other. The element of the main male character being the one writing letters to his future wife was especially enjoyed. Most of the time you get the girl doing the writing so I enjoyed that th ...more

Another trip to Claremont.

Troy lee has been writing letters to his future wife since he was twelve. Now, fifteen years later, a few of the letters have found their way into the hands of a magazine owner who wants to publish them. But first she has to get his permission, so Destiny arrives in Claremont with that purpose in mind. Time passes and as she gets to know Troy and the people of the town, she changes her mind about printing the letters, because it turns out they were written to her. Well

Overall, a great story. Is it bad that I thought they rushed into marriage too quickly at the end? Can you really just 'know' a person is 'the one' after just one week? I mean, I used to think so, back in in naive younger days. But now in my 30's (and yes, till single, sadly) I just don't find that to be wise, even for Christians. Not if you don't want to get divorced, anyway. It's hard enough knowing if any guy is right for you at all! I could maybe get why Troy was so sure, but Destiny? JMO

Fun story, but the religious aspect was a little to blatant for me-maybe not as natural as some. Still, the characters and plot were clever and fun. Clean romance!
