OMFG! What a damn roller coaster ride!

I can’t even express what I felt after finishing the book, I mean I was mad, period!

I loved Cole, I felt for her, for her journey and the way she dealt with things, both her relationships, professionally and personally. But God I had moments where I just wanted to slap her!!!

And this worked both ways, Devon started off innocent and introspective, but man this guy infuriated me sometimes. Yes you’re kind of hurt and confuse, but damn!

Hollywood Lies was one of those stories that I did a lot of flip flopping on whether I liked it or not. The story was very well written, the prose had an amazing flow, and the characters were likable and engaging. The story line was very good, very original. Taken right from modern day Hollywood and the shenanigans you read about in the gossip rags and see on Twitter. What I didn't particularly care for was the amount of sex the lead characters, Colette and Devon were engaging in. Every time you ...more
I love Ms. Smith's novels. I adore them. I start reading them and cannot function until I've finished them. Which is why I feel so shit for not liking this one. Oh, did I ever want to love this book; but alas...

Two actors, one on cusp of fame, one established, their paths cross... as someone who will admittedly read the gossip columns daily, this book made me feel like I was reading a fictionalised account of real events - here's the story from Gossip Cop and People, change some names and bamn!

This book really makes you think when you open up your Star or People magazine, "What is real and what isn't?" I have a new respect for stars and what they have to deal with.

Devon is a struggling actor, waiting for his breakout role. When we meet him, he's a lonely, naive, young, broke kid. He lands a role in a new movie that is being directed by Colette (Cole), a beautiful, lonely, musician turned actress turned director, recovering addict who surrounds herself with people who will yes,ma'am h

I like love triangle theme specially if it's F/M/F. I'm not in love with the story but it was interesting to the point that I finished this in one day.

First of all, I just want to say that Devon/Collette and Devon/Liliana sex scenes was hot! love it!!! whew!

Okay, Devon is 23 young struggling actor and lands a role in a movie that is being directed by Collette, is a musician turned actress/director that is recovering addict. She's broken, flawed but also strong. Lil

I finished this story in one complete sitting....because....for the love of all that is romance....this had it all. The sex was great, but even more than that were the emotions that were evoked with each different plot twist. I completely fell on love with these characters, and felt invested in their story to the point.....I had dreams about them after I finished. That's when you know a story has some meat in it....cause it sticks with ya.

Hollywood Lies ~ Ripped From The Headlines!

Hollywood Lies takes you into the seamy underbelly of the glitzy and glamourous patina that is the Hollywood we mere mortals don’t see up close and personal. It is very similar to the tabloid accounts that line the shelves of grocery store checkout lanes, Hollywood insider TV shows and celebrity blogs. In fact, parts of the story felt as if they were ripped from recent headlines: unassuming young star is “discovered” by a successful older female directo

Of course I’m going to want to get my hands on a book that has reviewers panting and running for cold showers.

After readers have dried off and taken care of their needs, they’ve found time to give N.K. Smith’s Hollywood Lies rave reviews. So I quickly logged into my email, sent the fabulous l

I truly enjoyed this book. I liked the glimpse into the Hollywood "celebrity" life that it showed. The synopsis of the book really doesn't do it justice, in my opinion, though. While the book is about all of those things, and the main characters are Devon, Collette (Cole), and Liliana, the majority of the book does not focus on their love triangle (real or imagined). The heart of the book revolves around Cole and Devon and the very real and intense connection that they feel for each other in the ...more

Loved this book. It was a great combination of a romance, and a self discovery. I felt like it gave a true look into what these famous individuals must feel when their lives are invaded as they are. I also enjoyed the fact that even though we were dealing with celebrities, N.K. SMith gave them true personalities. They were relatable and true feeling characters. They had their great parts and they certainly all had their flaws. You got invested with the characters and their story as you got to re ...more

Sexy and unpredictable. Interesting characters and good plot. Realistic insight into what a celebrity lifestyle may be like. Crazy hot sex, and lots of it.

This story definitely took me on an unusual ride, and I liked that. Even though told in alternating points of view, I liked that I wasn't sure what the outcome was going to be. I felt like this could easily be an accurate portrayal of what a celebrity lifestyle may be like, and a happy ending in real life is never guaranteed.

This wasn't my cup of tea. At first I wasn't overly sure that I was going to finish it. I had to put the book down and come back to it a few weeks later. I was really hoping for a story about an up-and-coming actor who falls for his director but must pretend to date his co-star in order to hype up the movie. However, I found the story to revolve more around the sex and less around the actual story.

Hollywood Lies takes you behind the scenes and into the lives of those in the celebrity world. Told from Devon's and Cole's points of view, the story goes beyond what the fans see and deep into their lives, invading into their thoughts, feelings, emotions, hopes, and regrets.

Devon is an actor looking for his big break. He really is your typical guy next door type – sweet, smart, and sexy. Collette is a child actress turned director and hates the limelight. While she loves her work, she does ever

Much thanks to NetGalley, The Writers’ Coffee Shop, and N.K. Smith for giving me an Advanced Reading Copy in return for my honest review.

This story earns my admiration for one thing: Ms. Smith does an extraordinarily good job of showing the negative side of celebrity. The whole climate these characters live in is very realistically portrayed. The characters are complicated people who certainly have both flaws and good qualities. It was an intriguing read.

I actually really liked this story. I thought the writing was great. The author created really well developed characters and a very refreshing, original story line.

The story of a romance between a famous person, be it an actor, musician, millionaire, etc has been so overdone... but this story was so completely different. It was exciting and surprising, completely unpredictable. I truly had no idea where the stor

I love the idea of the book. I love how Collette does as she wants and refuses to be labeled as one thing or another for doing the same thing men do. I just didn't connect with her. The background story of why she is the way she is kind of irked me. It made her reasons for her behavior appear more damaged than empowering which bothered me.

This was a different read for me I have read books where the famous person falls for the not famous one. This was a nice different twist.

I have to say that until I read books that have the famous people I never even once looked at it as they have any kind of hardship in what they do. This has been just another eye opener for me that they don't have it easy. I know it isn't a biography so it isn't a true story but it still makes me wonder how difficult it must be to just be in a relationship with

I really liked this book. It was so different from my first read of N.K. Smith's which was My Only (which was an awesome book also, grab that one if you haven't). I received this ARC from Netgalley. I have to be honest. This book was difficult for me to finish. At first, it read like I was watching a soap opera. There are plenty of sex scenes, but it seems as though they are gratuitous. I tend to like a story to go with my porn, not just a bunch of porn put together to make a story. I almost walked away from this book about 75% in because of the whining and bed-hopping that the main characters were doing. I did finish the book and it got a little better b ...more

Cole and Devon are both Hollywood types looking for a relationship, whether they each know it or not. Hollywood gossip however prevails! It was a really interesting twist on how things go in Hollywood and see all the relationships that develop.

So, wow! This was a sexy read! From the synopsis of the book I totally wasn’t expecting that part of it. But it really was a great book. I will say that I think the same story could have been told without all the sex scenes, they seemed to put the book jus

So I like reading steamy scenes like the best of anyone. But the bed hopping was a little much for me. The whining did not help either.

The whole fake relationship thing killed me. Why would you willingly put your self in that love triangle. You knew it was a bad idea.

I don't think that Devon redeemed himself at all when he finally chose Liliana. I was hoping they would come to there senses and be done with it.

Not a huge fan of this one. It was not the worst thing I have ever read, but definitely was not my favorite.

Initially, the fake relationship aspect (when I read the description) I thought could be cool (like in Reckless), but I think it fell short for me.

Devon's words/inner thoughts didn't always feel as masculine as I wanted them to be. (That could possibly just be a personal preference thing).
