Here's one thing that keeps happening in 9:17 am by Amber Jerome-Norrgard: she speaks of her children the way that all parents feel about their own, yet too often do not say aloud. Amber's three are precious and delightful, but she does not shy away from the grueling work and pain it took to get them here. Nor does she hide from the fact that, at times, babies come out mad and covered in poo.

I have loved reading this collection of poems and essays written by the extraordinary writer that is Amber Jerome-Norrgard. Totally honest, raw, and heart-wrenching, each one of the poems and essays will make you know more about her and get to feel quite close to her and her feelings. She has a way of talking about deeply emotional things that go straight to the core of your feelings, straight to your heart.
