I may think about this one and change my mind about it, as it seems to have the potential to be a sleeper. The Kafka references on the inner sleeve are certainly justified as you're left thinking am I supposed to believe this story literally or is it an allegory? Is the main character truly part of some bizarre experiment, as we are told in the last few chapters, or are most of the events of the book occurring inside Smith's head?
