Satunya pria keturunan Cina berumur 56 tahun, sementara yang lain, seorang cewek ABG, bule, berusia 18 ...more

I've only read this book so far but will keep an eye out for any others. I found the cross-cultural interplay to be both realistic and affectionate. The author seems to be someone who likes people just as they are (for the most part!)
No single culture is either idealised or vilified - they are just different.
The plot was somewhat farcical but this didn't bother me. If you see it as a vehicle for the picturesque characterisations it works fine.
The only character who bored me was the unpleasant se

There is nothing I can write about this book which will top the concept "Feng Shui Detective" or the chapter title "Dying Is Very Bad Feng Shui", and the fact that the book manages to live up to any of that is remarkable enough.

Great, light read for travellers through Singapore (or around East Asia), or third culture kids wanting a hero of their tribe.

I actually think the first book is a wee bit better, but this one gave me a good laugh too. Again, i didn't really pay attention to the "investigating" part of this book, the adventures and humors are entertaining enough. And love the fact that i learned some Asian cultures in the books.
