This is an amazing book that tells the true story of how two orphan baby tigers were raised and cared on the T.I.G.E.R.S. animal preserve and shared numerous hours playing, cuddling, and swimming with them. But perhaps importantly, the cubs were raised and cared for by two surrogate Mums: A human animal worker named China and her special helper, Anjana, a Chimpanzee. Yes, I kid you not! Styled as a picture book, I think children of all ages will enjoy everything about this book, from the heart w...more
Although many readers will want to know much more about how Mitra and Shiva ended up needing so much care, they will still be enthralled with this sweet story of friendship between two different species. Budding conservationists will adore this book with its simple text and r...more

preS-gr1, maybe 2

The cutest animal book ever! I'm saying that about all of the books I see today. The photographs tell it all - seeing the species interact is really touching. The story starts out with just the cubs, which is not what I expected, but eventually gets to the relationship. Written simply, so possible to read-aloud. The prose is not exceptional, but the story is. It would be fun sharing at storytime.
A sweet tale for PreK-K. My niece would love it.
Charming photographs and simple story suitable for young children about two beautiful tiger cubs and the chimpanzee who helps care for them.
