I really enjoyed this second book in the Gentleman's Daughter series. It is a clean historical romance with the action and intrigue of an 18th century gothic novel that kept me reading late into the night.

The story begins with Felicity trying to escape from Naples and the evil Count Udolpho. Dressed as a boy on a ship bound for England, she tries to escape the notice of Captain Mountbank whom she danced with last summer. Once back in England, she and Capt. Mountbank are faced with numerous intr

I really enjoyed this book! It is the second book in the Gentleman's Daughter series. I had read the first book when it was first published and then reread it again just before reading this second book. The main characters in this book were secondary characters in the other so you don't really need to read the books in order, but you might as well since both books are great. :)

Her Folly had a fun Gothic feel with plenty of adventure. The characters felt real and relatable as well. Williams does

A Gentleman's Daughter: Her Folly is a short, sweet Regency-style novella by Reina M. Williams. It is the second in her Gentleman’s Daughter series. The main focus of the story is Felicity Wilcox, cousin of Cecilia Wilcox, who was featured in the previous volume, Her Choice. Felicity is very much an independent woman, preferring a life of travel and freedom. She is not the type who feels the need to look for a husband. Overhearing a murderous plot that could put her family in danger, she rushes ...more

All I can really say is WOW! I adored this book! While I really enjoyed her first book, Her Choice, this one far out shines the first one in the series. Felicity's tale is so much fun, beginning with spying on Count Udolpho in Italy and ending with redemption in the arms of her true love. It was highly engaging, including treasonous characters, adventure on the high seas, and lots of intrigue. Without totally spoiling it for other readers, there isn't much more I can say! I highly recommend this ...more

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. A good tale, but not a gripping one. It was missing too many details to keep from being vague.
