I read this book with one of my reading partners in hopes of enhancing the devotional experience. We read them daily, and discussed ones that had the most impact on us.

The setup of the entries follows the traditional setup (passage, discussion, prayer), with a couple of extra sections. Each entry in this devotional is arranged as such:

Opens with a verse
Author's Discussion
Thinking: Questions to consider about the verse and discussion
Hearing: another passage
Reflecting: Questions about the "Hearin

I have read many books from Mr. Max Lucado and I consider himself a great author, although after a while you might start thinking that his books are kind of repetitive, always going around the main theme of "You can be everything God wants you to be" (by the way, this is the title of one of his excellent books). But this particular book is different. It is organized in 30 small Chapters, and you are supposed to ready one per day, like a devotional. Each day starts with a verse from the Scripture ...more
This 30-day devotion focuses on what it means to have a heart like Jesus’.

Can you think of a greater gift than to be like Jesus? Christ felt no guilt; God wants to banish yours. Jesus had no bad habits; God wants to remove yours. Jesus had no fear of death; God wants you to be fearless… He wants you to be just like Jesus.

It’s been awhile since I’ve read a book by Max Lucado, but it didn’t take me long to recognize his distinctly poetic narrative style. Those who are interested in really diving
I was pleased to review the Just Like Jesus Devotional for Booksneeze book review program. I enjoy reading a variety of devotionals -- often a brief daily reading is just what's needed to think about off and on. And, Lucado is a great author.

This book did not disappoint. Each day, Lucado focuses on one aspect of Jesus' heart that we should emulate. Some things that stood out to me as I read:

Jesus had a peaceful heart. He was willing to forgive those who hurt Him even before they asked forgivene

This is a companion devotional to Max Lucado's book Just Like Jesus: A Heart Like His (look for a review of this book coming soon!) Being the Lent season I wanted a devotional to read that would help me to focus more on Jesus. This was perfect! Let me share parts of the introduction with you:

What if, for one day, Jesus were to become you? With one exception, nothing about your life changes. What if, for one day, Jesus lives your life with his heart? What would you be like? Would people notice a
I being a Max Lucado fan absolutely love this devotional. I have
the book by Max Just Like Jesus and this devotional has many characteristics that the book does, a daily devotional with some very interesting and thought provoking questions after each reading, this is great for bible study.

You can use it as a study guide in a group or personal setting. I use it as a study aide along with my bible. In addition, the question and answer section at the end of each chapter were challenging and thought
One of the most practical books I have ever read about how to live a life in the way Jesus wants us to live.

Max Lucado has touched millions with his signature storytelling writing style. Awards and accolades follow Max with each book he writes. Max is the first author to win the Gold Medallion Christian Book of the Year three times—1999 for Just Like Jesus, 1997 for In the Grip of Grace and 1995 for When God Whispers Your Name. In 2005, Reader’s Digest dubbed him “America’s Best Preacher.” In addition, ...more
