I loved Throwing Heat from it's easy to love characters and the steamy romance between Leslie and Peter.
Both of them were fantastic and adorable to read. And this is my first book from Jennifer Seasons, and definitely will not be the last!

Another fun addition to the Diamonds and Dugouts series. Loved the witty banter between the Rush's pitcher, Peter Kowalskin, and Leslie Cutter, whose brother is on the Rush team.

I didn't like this one nearly as much as the first two. Which is really disappointing because I was looking forward to these characters. Full review to come

The title of this book may apply to our hero, Peter's pitching career, but there's a lot of heat going on here. Lots of heat!

This book is so full of sexual tension that by the time you are finished you'll need a cold shower!

I was prepared to be annoyed by Leslie..she's one of those little spoiled girls that has everything but screws up all the time, but guess what...even though there were times when I did want to slap her upside her pretty head.

She basically has had some bad relationships that h...more

We've been pretty excited for Leslie and Peter's book since Stealing Home. Did it live up to your expectations?

Andrea: It did! I've always thought Leslie was a ton of fun, Peter too. And the chemistry between them was so hot even in the first two books. I just knew Throwing Heat would be great.

Autumn: I loved it! I love Peter AND Leslie. What did you think of the prologue? I always wondered about how their chemistry originated.

Andrea: I loved the prologue. I assumed their "beginning" wa...more

Having loved the first two in the series, both Stealing Home and Playing the Field, I jumped at the chance to read an ARC of Throwing Heat. Jennifer Seasons writes terrific baseball players, fantastic romances, and some pretty hot scenes if you know what I mean. The third book in the series tells the story of Peter Kowalskin, pitcher of the Denver Rush baseball team and Leslie Cutter, sister of Mark Cutter the Rush’s catcher.

Jennifer Season’s didn’t wait for the first chapter – she had it from the prologue. It was steamy, sexy and a little heartbreaking. Enough to keep me going and going, until oh – it was the final page already.

Here are two characters that you will learn to love from the first page – Leslie and Peter. Nightclub manager Leslie Cutter has a bad history when it comes to trusting men and relationships. But it didn’t stopped her from betting with P...more

I have enjoyed all three of the Diamonds and Dugouts novels and this one was the best of the three! I have been waiting for Leslie and Peter's story since the first book, Stealing Home and I can say I was definitely not disappointed! There has been a history that you learn about that has been the reason that they have steered clear of each other from the beginning but through the story you see these two people who are afraid to love and get hurt learn to let go and trust that this person won't h...more

WHAT I LIKED
Leslie Cutter is my kind of woman. My favorite kind of heroine is the one picks herself up after being knocked down and does what she need to do to get back on her feet and Leslie is that in spades. After trusting the wrong guy and paying the price several years ago she's not about to make the same mistake again but she's never stubborn about it like some people can be. I even understood why she was more willing to take a business risk than one with her heart. But Peter was just the...more

Peter can't get Leslie out of his mind and will do ANYTHING to win this bet. Leslie and Peter have amazing chemistry, their flirty banter is STEAMY and...more

Leslie Cutter is the sister of one of the catchers for the Denver Rush’s baseball team. She runs her brother’s nightclub and has turned it from a barely functional club into a thriving business. Her dream is to buy the club from her brother and make it hers. Unfortunately for her, she’s a long way from having the money saved for a down payment.

Peter Kowalskin is the Rush’s ace pitcher. He’s also a very talented guitar player and singer. However, only his friends and people close to him know this...more

Leslie Cutter loves a bet and one that will help her achieve her dream is perfect. The only problem is that she has made a bet to keep her hands off Peter Kowalskin. She has a past with him that makes her want to finish what was started years ago. Peter wants the chance to prove to Leslie he can finish the job. He will do anything to get what he wants even play dirty. The more time the two spend together the more they see they may just need each other more than in just bed. Can they get past the...more

The Diamonds and Dugouts series continues with this third installment that has headstrong main characters, non-stop flirtatious dialogue, and unrelenting sexual tension all wrapped up in a fun and immensely satisfying story. From start to finish I was fully engaged in the outcome of Peter and Leslie's back and forth battle of the sexes and rooted for their HEA every step of the way.

Leslie is good at choosing bad men who walk away from her leaving her to clean up the mess they leave behind. Three...more

Jennifer Seasons's Diamonds and Dugouts series has looked like so much fun, and I am so happy I finally caved and read one of them. I absolutely loved Throwing Heat from it's easy to love characters and the steamy romance between Leslie and Peter.

Gosh, I just loved the characters in this one. Seriously, they were fantastic. I already know I need to go back and read books 1 and 2 in hopes of seeing some more of the characters who I fell in love with in Throwing Heat.

Leslie and Peter were a great couple, you could almost feel the chemistry between them coming off the pages. Throwing Heat was a wonderful story line, my only problem with the book was that the author chose my favorite baseball team to lose to the Rush in the World Series. I'm not taking it personally though, I highly recommend this author and series. Even I'm going to be looking for more of her books.

Great story, great characters and great plot. Leslie is the manager of her brothers nightclub. Peter is the pitcher on the same team as Leslie's brother. They each had an instant attraction to each other when they first met 4 years ago. They make a bet with one another that will change their relationship.

Man, Peter Kowalskin is one sexy baseball player! *fans self*

This was a really quick, sexy easy read. I liked the whole set-up with the bet idea and the UST that came from that - and oh the whole pole-dancing class moment!!!

I liked the way Peter had accepted that this was going to be his last season but at the same time felt that more could have been made of it.

There were a couple of things I would have liked to see resolved: Peter's feelings and relationship with his newly discovered brother an...more

Throwing Heat definitely throws off a lot of heat while reading it! Lesley & Peter clash in a way that is fun and oh so hot. I really liked the "back & forth" between the two of them. Peter is trying oh so hard to force Lesley's hand, by placing them both in situations that bring them together. Meanwhile, Lesley is doing all she can to keep her distance...all of this to win a bet! Of course these situations bring out the best and yes sometimes the worst in both of them. Hey, it wouldn't...more

This was a pretty good romance. It does start out with a pretty explicit sex scene. It also had a standard "issue".

A nice finish to the series. I have to admit, I love the grand romantic gesture at the end. Brought tears to my eyes.

The first book in the series is still my favorite, but this was a good one. Interesting characters make for an entertaining read.

I put "read" so that it's off of my TBR shelf.

I think the problem for me with this book was that there was a boatload of introspection but not a ton of dialogue and when I found myself skimming I put the book down. Obviously we NEED introspection in a book but not so much that it overpowers the amount dialogue. I’m an every word reader 99% of the time so when I start skimming that’s a bad sign. I may go back to this eventually but for now it’s a DNF
