The second in the series of The Elemantal Witches . I really enjoyed this book. The world of Demon Ass kicking warrior witches has pulled me in.
This book carries on from where Witch Fire finished and is the story of Thomas Monahan and Isabelle Novak and their battle against a rogue demon who has been trapped on Earth following a summons from the Duskoff and is killing off witches in an attempt to raise sufficient magic to return to his relm. As all hell breaks loose Thomas and Isa More...

Isabelle Novak is a water witch who has decided to channel the grief of losing her sister Angela into making those responsible for her death pay. Angela was killed by a Demon let loose by the warlock-controlled Duskoff Cabal (aka - the bad guys) and since Isabele has had no luck tracking down the demon who actually did the dirty deed she has decided to pin her sites on the head of the Cabal who summoned the demon. BUT.... Just as she is about to kill the evil Stefan the car they are in lurches t

Here we have Isabelle, a wild water witch who trusts no one . She is hell bent on destroying the man she holds responsible for her sister’s death, Stefan the new Duskoff international leader. (which leads to a really hot scene where she tries to freeze his man hood off.) The head of the Coven, Thomas, stops her just in time and reminds her that witches agree to “harm ye none”. Thomas promises to help her bring the demon that Stefan released to justice. Together with the coven they hunt a very po

I have done it again and started in the middle of a series, thats the problem when I get them as strips. Anyways I don't think that this is the type of series where you need to read them in order it is just a matter of when they introduce the characters, each book in the series focuses on a different character. Alright so back to this book. I really enjoyed this book. It was intense and passionate. The main character Isabelle is out to seek revenge on the murder of her sister and frankly sh

Witch Blood, the second book in the Elemental Witches series is a much better read than the first book. The first book was too light on plot and storyline and too immersed in sex. However, the author must have taken note because Witch Blood was filled with cleaver twists, turns and action. Isabelle Novak is a loner and a water witch. Her early years were filled with moves from place to place with her loving and protective sister, Angela. It seems mommy dearest was usually off somewhere acquiring

The story was good, but it wasn't exceptional.
We have a tortured heroine, Isabelle, the first water witch to get past Stefan Faucheux's defenses, and the Coven's core led by Thomas Monahan was "piggybacking" along her seduction. It was successful at some point. There wasn't any instant sexual attraction between the two but it can't be helped because the earth and water elements jibe together.

The second book in Anya Bast's "Elemental Witches" series takes few weeks after what happens in book #1. The stars of this story is Isabelle Novak, a Water witch who is on a revenge mission to capture the demon who killed her sister, and Thomas Monahan, an Earth witch who is also the head of the Coven.
From the first page, I'm totally loving the story. Isabelle is one kick-ass lady (gosh, that scene of what she to Stefan still makes me wince because OMG it must HURT!). She h More...

You know, I absolutely love reading a good book. As I've mentioned plenty of times already, I'm having some wicked luck with every book I've read so far in '08. This one is yet another to add to the list. I actually really enjoyed the first book in the Elemental Witches series, Witch Fire, so I was looking forward to checking this one out too.

Witch Blood is the second installment in the Elemental Witches series by Anya Bast. This is my second Bast book and I found I liked this book even more than Wicked Enchantment which is from her Dark Magick series. Although both are good, I found the Elemental Witches has a certain twist I like more.

A past that won't go away, an old enemy that has returned, and a new man in your life. This is a story of a water witch named Isabelle who's out for revenge. A while back, a group of warlocks called Duskoff summond a demon to do their bidding and killed Isabelle's older sister and only friend Angela. Since the head warlock was already gone, the next best target was his over confidant and inhumane fire witch son, Stefan. First, she wanted to know about the demon that was killing witches again. Bu

This is really like 2.5 stars. It's the second book I've read in this series, and was an ok read. The heroine, Isabelle, was really kick ass. The sex was SMOKIN'!
I felt there was more to the demon than we were let in on. He was trying to kill the warlock who brought him to their world for Isabelle. Why? The demon wanted to go home and needed Isabelle to open the portal. Yet, here he was forming an attachment to her. It was strange.

I have a funny reaction to this series. See, I do enjoy them. I really do. Yet... I have a hard time getting back into the books if I set them down. I don't have a reason for this peculiarity, it's just something that's happened with both books so far. It's weird because I like the story and I like the characters. I want to know how things are going to play out. I want to see where the unfolding revelations take the overall sotry arc. Why, then, do I have issues with finishing the books?

Seriously I can't understand why so many love this series. For me it has been one of the worst books I have read in a while.
The lack of plot is really a turn down in this series. And it's a shame because the idea was really good; at first, I was really attracted to this idea of elemental witches against evil. But the paranormal side of the story is lamely explained. Most of the time you just forget they are witches because they barely use their powers. Also the romance doesn't feel r More...

While the plot itself is interesting and fast-paced, it gets weighed down by the sex scenes. There are a lot of them, and every single time Thomas and Isabel have sex, we hear the full play-by-play. With 275 pages of novel, that many sex scenes really weighed everything down. I realize if they were all cut out, the story might not actually be novel-length, but by the time I was halfway through the book, I was already to the point of rolling my eyes and going "yeah, ok, another sex scene..."

The second book in her witch series. It is a paranormal romance. Her sex scenes are repetitive--she likes to use the word tunneling and impaled for a guy entering or doing a woman. Neither one of those words do it for me.
The plot outside of the sex is pretty good, but it took me over a week to finish this book which was under 400 pages. I can usually crank out a book like that in two days or less if I have more time.

I didn't like this one as much as I liked the first one. It felt disjointed, like random bits of plot were thrown together without much thought for cohesiveness. Unfortunately, the sex scenes felt incidental; in Witch Fire the sex was seamlessly integrated into the plot, but in this one, the developing relationship and accompanying smut between Isabelle and Thomas seemed like it was tossed in just to make the story a romance novel. This is sad, because good lord, Anya Bast can write some hot

Ever since Isabelle Novak's sister Angela was brutally murdered by a demon called to Earth by the warlocks, she's been out for revenge. When she couldn't track the demon she turned her attention to the leader of the Duskoff Cabal, Stefan. Stefan is a powerful fire witch-turned-warlock, but Isabelle is a very strong water witch with a plan and the need to avenge her sister - the one person she cared about in the world - driving her on.
Her plan had just come to fruition, too, when the More...

I am going through the books that my girlfriend has contributed to the library downstairs and thought this might be a fun read. It was for the most part, though it certainly isn't amazing literature. There is sexual content for those who prefer to avoid such things, but honestly I sort of skipped over most of those scenes as they were brief, sort of thrown in without much regard for the plot, and the author's word choices didn't do much for me.

I really disliked the first book in this series, but I'm so glad I took a chance and read this one! It was leaps and bounds better than the first. I loved Thomas, the Coven leader, and his lovely water witch Isabelle. The plot was much better than the first, and it really kept on moving up until the end. Now I'm looking forward to the next book and thinking maybe the first just suffered from being first in a series.

This is the second book in a series about elemental witches. I loved it because the book started out with the main female protagonist trying to kill the bad guy. You do not see that a lot in paranormal romances. It was different from the norm which makes it stand out. The two main protagonists were a joy to read about and there was enough action that you were never bored with the story.

This was a good read about an interesting topic, but it was too close to erotica instead of the mainstream romance its touted as.
Its a boy-meets-girl with a supernatural twist.
Unfortunately it was heavy on the sex and light on the solution. It was good up to the point where the couple wind up in another world, but then the action gets blurry and the solution seems rushed.

Didn't like it at all. Isabelle was an annoying character, and a few chapters in I wanted to scream at her to get over her emotional problems. The plot wasn't very exciting to me. I hate the plot device of "main character knows something but must hide it from everyone around her." Yawn.
Also, the sex scenes were dull. It was like she wrote one scene, then reused it throughout the novel, just changing a few words here and there. Seriously, how many times did he pin her More...

I liked this better than the first, I felt like there was (marginally) more storyline outside of the sex, and I loved the idea of the witches coming from demons.
My favourite part was when they were in the demon dimension- I hope other books in the series explore that more.
Still not amazing, but an ok book to pass a few hours with.
