Various aspects are included, such as volcanoes, minerals, crystals, and diamonds. The main facts are presented in boxes amidst cartoonish illustrations. The book, "The Rock Factory: A Story About The Rock Cycle" describes how
a rock is made and the different changes that it goes through. This book can be used for a 2nd grade science lesson in which students examine different rocks that they brought and categorize them as metamorphic, sedimentary, or igneous.

The rock factory is an information book about the rock cycle. However it reads like a story book. You follow a tiny mineral through the rock cycle, and at the very end you see what type of rock/mineral your rock becomes. A great read aloud for introducing the rock cycle.
