This novella was creative and well written with defined characters that one can relate to. The decription of the era is on target from the way people travelled to the way they spoke to the way they dress and reacted at differing levels of southern society. The historical aspects of the story are on target and add interest. It keeps you reading to the end and the end of the story holds your interest. This is a good and quick read!
