If you want (Fill In The Blank) then you want to read this book.

If you want a premise with promise then you want to read this book.
Seth, a vet, comes to town to find his new beginning. Kasey, a wolf shifter and the town sheriff, is looking for his mate. A lot could have been done with this. A lot has been done with other books.

It's clear that JR Loveless was trying to break some new ground. She came up with the idea of The Created. They're shifters who are not born but bitten. If they

Now this was some awful writing!
Let me tell you guys my favorite parts.

Kasey is native American and racist. But that’s okay, because you know, all white people are bad bad men.

There are werewolves. And because werewolves are magic, their clothes also magically disappear when they shift and appear when shifting back.
*whines* Why would the author do that??? It is not necessary for my guys to wear clothe
I had a wide variety of issues with this book. From the utterly baffling bigotted attitude from one of the MCs, to the incessant cry fests.

It was all so very confusing. Yet I kept reading because I needed to know where exactly this story was going.

Seth is a shifter, he is also a Vet, he has a special gift that lets him heal animals, which makes him sick and that causes vomiting which occurs repeteadly in the book, delightful :S He has just moved to a town in Wyoming and started a practice. His h

The tortured tragic hero who needs his alpha to lean on, who can be strong himself, but desperately needs to be loved––that's totally my kink. Seth is beautiful and fragile and has been horribly abused. Kasey is big and strong and sexy and is a jerk at first but he was raised to believe a certain way about born werewolves vs. created ones. When he finds out that his concern does not apply to his mate, he reverses his mindset and works very hard to get Seth to accept him. And of course his mate w ...more

So yeah Kasey was a racist asshole. And they cry a lot. And Seth was Too stupid to live at the end. And the sex was stale/boring/repetitive. And somethings didn't make sense. And the instant love/acceptance seemed unnatural even for a fictional book about gay werewolves.

But I still liked it. It put an interesting twist on things and wasn't the same old gay werewolf book. It kept me entertained from the beginning until the end. Sure it would have been nice if Kasey wasn't such a racist and so me

So this book was good. After looking at several reviews I knew what to expect so I was excited going in after holding off for so long. Am I glad I read this? Yes, definitely. It's a really good book, but it wasn't amazing. I just didn't fall in love with it the way I do other books.

There are a few scenes in this that I know people won't like. It involves animals and yeah, it's pretty graphic. So people should be warned if they can't read that type of violence.

I really liked Seth. He'd been thro
I liked the idea for this story - two men destined to be together but having to overcome the odds to do so. I liked that they had to not only overcome external trouble, but to deal with conflict between them too. This wasn't a simple case of 'you're destined to be my mate so we must be together', rather both men are not initially attracted to each other.

It is a story of wolf shifters so there is some background to learn about the pack, or in this case, packs. Kasey, the alpha-male sheriff, is Ch
I love m/m romance. I enjoy it as a break from reading hetero pairings. So when a story like "Chasing Seth" makes me cringe and re-read the book description to make sure that I didn't choose f/f, there's a problem.

This is my first book from this author. I hope that this was a fluke and their writing surpasses this. Because the ideas were solid. The, not so much. From the supposed Alpha male crying while making love, to men calling each other "babe" for nicknames or the long, DRAW

Okay, kiddies, come closer so I may tell you all the things I learned from this story!

Gather around now, dear friends, as I tell you a romantic tale of werewolf shifters...

Now what did I learn, you ask?

1. I learned Native American werewolf shifters are racists who hate white people. 'Cause whitey be the devil, yo.

If the way Kasey treated him was any indication, they must be wonderful people to have raised a son like him. Aside from being prejudiced about white people.

You ever read a book and ask yourself dang why did it take me so long to read it? Well this is how I felt about this book. It really had me hooked from the beginning to the end. I love how we found everything out the same time as everyone else. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole book. I enjoyed how J.R did her wolf world it was different but still enjoyable. I loved Kasey and Seth together. They were perfect for each other. I really do enjoy J.R's writing style. I can't wait for her next ...more

I knew what to expect as I started reading Chasing Seth. Not my first book by Ms.Loveless. -

I agree, but I`ll give Chasing Seth 0,5 stars more for the readability.
Hey - I finished it!

Though this book is quite predictable, offers up a somewhat original story in the gay PNR genre. It still contains the same formula that is most shifter books; finding one’s destined mate and overcoming a series of obstacles. I enjoyed all the characters, and I really am hoping it will become a spectacular series.

Seth Davies is trying to make a new life after enduring extreme torture and abuse from his

Well, I read it, and I noticed a few similarities to Touch Me Gently.
The smaller, abused, weepy man ( in this case "pup", please, he's a vet, an adult ,not 12!) and the strong, big alpha just waiting to fix everything for him!
Enough others have mentioned the bigoted attitude of one of the MC and his brother, I keep wondering where it came from, their parents didn't seem to feel the same way.
It wasn't bad, just not really good either.
I am predicting a sequel between Nick and the brother! :)

Seth Davies is a man looking for peace. Raised to believe he and his family are the only ones of his kind, his naivety lands him in trouble with rogues called the Created. Now he's damaged emotionally and looking to settle down and peacefully work as a vet where no one could possibly know he's a wolf. Kasey Whitedove is the sheriff of Seth's new hometown. With Kasey's racism towards white men and his firm belief they can't take care of animals properly, Seth and Kasey have a rocky start

Awe - what a sweet story! I loved it!

I read a few reviews before I started this - and they were pretty negative about how Kasey was first raciest about Seth being White - personally I think it went well with the story. The story was about Kasey overcoming his obsessions, as well as Seth overcoming his fears - so I think it important that it was in there. not to mention that the whole pack was skeptical against white man/ werewolves - who wouldn't be if they believed the Created ones were all ba

I'm not sure why such negative approach toward this story. I read a lot of book about shifters and even so, I think that this way enjoyable written story. Kasey behaved like an ass and idiot toward Seth, but his feelings were understandable, too. Everyone can behave like an ass based around different reasons, like pride or prejudice, and till all reasons around this behavior aren't explained, we have to take it as a small parts of a whole plotted story. Looking from this point of view I truly en ...more

This is a shifter novel, and as such you have to expect the standard mate theory and plotline. Its the same as any genre of novels; it fits into a genre because it has certain typical scenarios and settings that make it belong to that genre.

That said, there were good and not-so-good things about Chasing Seth. Some of the plot holes that many shifter stories fall into were true for this story, such as the almost irrational instant-love, the repetition of the word "mate" and the use of a dorky pet
Yeah there is an hour and a half left in the audiobook, but I have to go to a meeting at work and won't get to finish it today... so I just don't care. Not gonna finish it at all, because I just don't care, and won't bother picking it back up on Monday.

Seth seemed alright, for all of the first few chapters or whatever, then he became an entirely different personality.

Kasey.... nope never warmed up to him. Didn't like him. Didn't like the whole 'white man is the devil' thing.

Ugh. Let me start by saying I have no problem with the wolf mates trope, the insta-love trope, or the dominant alpha male trope. All those can be part of a compelling story and can even be hot.

This book irritates me on several levels.

1. Severely abused people don't just jump into the sack with someone without any negative side effects.
2. Referring to Kasey as 'the Cheyenne' was so ANNOYING. We got it, from the first pages, that Kasey is Cheyenne. But frankly, I think the author is more hung up o

The feel of this book was just amazing, I loved the plot, I loved the characters but most of all I loved the way this book made me feel. I have a soft spot for a good shifter book and this was a good one.

I thought about rereading this, but I couldn't make it past the first 50 pages. I'm not sure what I was thinking the first time through that I gave it three stars, but it seems that during my unenlightened early days in this genre I've gotten at least some enjoyment out of it. Or maybe I was high. Who knows?

My thoughts now are that this is utterly ridiculous. The permanently changing POVs, the completely ludicrous character behaviour, the all-consuming dislike I feel towards the big bad alpha Sh
I got this on Audio as I usually like GFY shifters. There were just a load of aspects of this book that just didn't do it for me at all. The complete turnaround from hate to insta love, everyone calling each other "Babe", the tears and heartfelt talks in bed all the time.

Some of my dislike for this book could also be down to the audiobook narrator, who kept pausing at the wrong times like "nothing like this has ever happened to me.. long pause..ever..long pause..said Seth"

I'm sure there are lots
