The Witch Hunter by Nicole R. Taylor is the story of four friends, Zac, Sam, Liz, and Gabby, who happen to be three vampires and a witch. Zac has a knack for getting himself into trouble and dragging his friends along with him. After Gabby calls on Aya, the Witch Hunter, for help getting Zac out of some trouble, things really get interesting.

As for the characters, my favorite was…Zac. Yes, I know he's kind of a jerk sometimes, but…hey, who doesn't like the bad boy? Sam is way too goody-goody for

Unreadable. Extremely poor grammar, characters copied straight out of the Vampire Diaries books, down to the tempers of the Salvatore brothers and generally horrid storytelling.

3.75 stars Hmmm... I can't decide whether I'm mad enough about that cliffhanger to go down to three stars. I am assuming it's a cliffhanger and not an ending or that would just be bullshit. I am OK with some open ended books when you know it's gonna be a trilogy or whatever because there should be an overarching plot throughout the series, but... this is a little much. I luckily received this book as a R2R from the Lovers of Paranormal Group

Stars: 5

Overall: What a nice and different take on the paranormal world. I really liked that the story felt very real and the situations seemed believable. I also really liked the relationships between all the characters, most of the conversations were either really witty and funny or stop and make you think deeper into the story to find the hidden meaning. The story had me gripping my kindle, not wanting to put it down bec

This book was fabulous. It had the normal Paranormal that I LOVE plus some new paranormal that I hope to read more of!
Aya is what I will a super Vampire! I loved her character she is tough, sassy, and so powerful.
Zac and Sam are brother who are like night and day. Lizzie is the girl who both brothers love but, Sam is with.
Gabby is the witch of the story, and Alex is the human friend who finds put about them!! Then there is the evil witch Katrin who ugh I hated her instantly.

I tried. Dear God, I tried. I picked this book up and read a chapter and put it down so many times that I honestly almost finished it by giving up on it so many times.

Other than the names and the Aya character, there really is not an original thought in this book. If you want to not read this book, just go watch the first season or two of The Vampire Diaries, and you'll get the gist of the plot for the novel. It was the exact same to me.

Sam = Stefan, Liz = Elaina, Zac = Damon, and Gabby = Bonni

*Note - This is a vampire/magic story.
*Note #2 - Has rather major and profuse amounts of swearing in it. Lots of "F-Bombs", assholes, etc. I'm not a massive fan of derogatory language, so that was a bit of a downer.
*Note #3 - I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this story, I loved the characters and imagination that was put into it, and that cliff-hanger at the end was a cannot-believe-the-author-did-that moment. The end was deadly, effective, and has
I would like to thank the author for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review.

The blurb for this book made it sound really exciting. Vampires, witches, a curse, what more could you want. Sam and Zac have been vampires since the Civil War, and the last few years they have returned to their original home in Ashburton. Zac is very impulsive and arrogant, while Sam is kind and rational. So it makes sense that Zac is the one finding and causing trouble. After a run in with an old vampire

I've been reading through the books in Paranormal 13, a free book that I downloaded with 13 stories from various authors.

Does this sound familiar? Two vampire brothers, one a good boy and the other a bad boy, in love with the same girl. The girl’s best friend is a witch and they all live in a small Southern town.
Ding-Ding-Ding! Yep, Vampire Diaries! But this book wasn’t Vampire Diaries; it was a copycat rip-off. It was so much like Vampire Diaries that I thought, “This must have been the book t

Around chapter 5 I realized this book was the vampire diaries with bill from true blood's origin story. It's not terrible but it suffers from a few lazy writer problems. A) that thing where a character will be described as having a trait but all their actions disprove it. Ex: he was never good at making friends. Then the whole story is him becoming fast friends with everyone. Or saying that the witch could barely light a candle with magic but can summon a powerful creature by gathering a couple ...more

What is a story and characters without a soul? Words! In a nutshell, that is my review of "The Witch Hunter." This book had so much potential but fell flat due to poor editing, a lack of emotions, a a group of bland characters that quite frankly I cared nothing at. I really wanted to like this book but it just didn't do anything for me.

First off, I'd like to say that the cover totally got to me. It's gorgeous, isn't it?
Okay, moving on to the story:
Wow. Just wow.
The minute I saw this book, I just knew I had to read it. It wasn't just the cover that appealed to me; it was the summary too.
So I went a bit cuckoo for cocoa puffs on my search for this book and then gave up. Then, like maybe a few weeks later, I look back to this and I'm back to my nonstop demand for this book.
It's safe to say I literally screamed with joy when

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

This book was very different than the fantasy/paranormal books I've read, and I liked that. I loved the characters, in their own unique way. I think a lot of the time, authors make characters you've seen (or read) before. Not here. Ms. Taylor really knows how to make a cast, and damn did she do a good job.

The story itself was fun. It was never boring and had just the right amount of action and suspense, mind you, except for the

I gave up less than halfway through. A reviewer on the B&N site likened this to Vampire Diaries fanfiction, and I can totally see the gang after the original book series, where Elena has officially chosen Stefan, and now I suppose we try to get Damon a girl of his own? Enter the "witch hunter." It's not a bad idea, it just takes too long to get anywhere, IMO. I mean this witch shows up and goes to Zac, 'you killed my child. You are soooo dead, you and your little friends!' But then ...more

First, I must say that this book kept you on the edge of your seat. I cannot wait to read The Return, the second book in the series.

Initially, I was a little thrown off by how quickly you delve into everything without knowing more about the characters. However, the deeper you go and discover, the more you settle in and begin to bond with the characters.

I read this book in less than a day, I simply couldn't put it down. When the end came, it actually startled me because I didn't want it to end ye
Pretty good book. I wouldn't have minded a bit more of the magic. Aya is an interesting character and I wonder if the second book will reveal more of her backstory. Also I'd like to learn more about Gabby her Grandma and their abilities and lineage.
Good balance between action and story/character.

The two main cons to the story for me were:
1) Zac's personality was a bit irritating for me. He does whatever he wants without concern for anyone else, despite declaring how much he wants to protect his

Seen it before

This story is about two brothers who live in a small town down south, inhabited by supernatural creatures. Such as vampires, witches, ghosts, and werewolves. If you ask me this plot line has been tried before, vampire diaries hello!

I mean you got Zach the older brother with a smart mouth and alcoholic tendencies, Sam the younger brother with a gentle heart and soul. Gabby, the neighborhood young witch still discovering her powers. Liz the newlywed vampire both brothers want, and A

I just... Sigh...

I kept wanting to REALLY like this but it never happened. At the very end I became a little bit more invested, but not enough that I am going to read the rest of the series. I feel like I HAVE to read the next book to see what happens, but I don't have any desire to do so. It's that really weird feeling that I hate when I read a cliffhanger. If you like Vampire Diaries you might like this. Or you might be like me and not really like it at all.... The book follows two vampire bro

I’m not sure exactly how this story ended up with so many 4 and 5 star reviews. I set this book aside a number of times and almost gave up on it altogether.

This tale of 2 brothers in LA, have been vampires since the Civil War. They’ve been back in their hometown for quite awhile now, blending in with the humans who don’t know that vampires exist. Zac is a jerk and his mouth keeps getting them in trouble. Sam, his younger brother, is much easier going. When they are targeted by a dead witch who

Oh my goat, it was so good. I was pleasantly surprised at this. This really reminded me a lot of The Vampire Diaries, which I haven’t read but I have seen the show. I broke down and watched it on Netflix and I liked it, so while it is very similar, I liked that.

Here are some of the similarities that I caught and that means just a little bit of spoiler so, if you don’t want a spoiler, skip this next paragraph.

Took me a bit to get through this one. I had high hopes for the series when I first read the synopsis a couple of years back. I'm a sucker for witches, witch hunters, and witches as villains.
It honestly left me unimpressed with it's blatantly obvious parallels to The Vampire Diaries:
Vampire brothers
Vampire brothers in love with the same girl
The small town south as its setting
The brothers lived during the civil war and at least one served in the the confederate army

The Witch Hunter is book one of the Witch Hunter Saga by Nicole Taylor featuring an odd group of paranormal friends and a really big problem.

Zac was a bitter old vampire living with his brother Sam. After befriending a witch, Gabby, and a newly turned vampire, Liz, life settled into a routine. Except, Zac can't keep his mouth shut and angers a pretty old vampire. New tricks leave Zac standing over the corpse of his adversary, but that also leaves him with a curse from a very very old witch. In a

They drink blood and booze. Interesting and charming. But, I was done when I read the main character had been in his natural life a Civil War soldier—a Confederate Civil War soldier. Am I supposed to care about this character?

Still, I continued to read and while I never read the Twilight Series, or looked at a single episode of True Blood, I thought the characters read like Sam and Dean Winchester. I am a HUGE Supernatural fan and the dialog between Sam and Zac in the book sounded just like Sam

I have to say that I felt that while reading this book I was actually reading a summarized backwards version of Vampire Diaries, and little of Twilight thrown in there. Even with the small differences with adding Aya to the picture it was still unclear as to what she was and her significance to everything.

Zak - Damon: the older brother who is a rebel and doesn't like to listen to anyone and do what he wants. In love with his brother's girlfriend. Still drinks blood from people and just compels

Hard to rate this one. It was a love/hate relationship from page one. The story is interesting, though not completely original. Obvious ideas, names, and concepts are borrowed from The Vampire Diaries and The Twilight Saga. Still, there was something that drew me into the story. I'm a HUGE Vampire Diaries (tv show) fan, and actually enjoyed the similarity to that storyline.

The characters aren't highly developed, but they are strong enough to make you interested in them. The plot isn't bad reall
Oh man. This was my first self-published book. (At least I think it was self-published.) And it just disappointed me. I felt like I was reading a book written by a teenager.

It was a book mostly driven by dialogue. And by that I mean that the characters verbally expressed how they were feeling at every moment. And the characters were 100% in your face about who they were and the personality traits that they had that it was too obvious. The writing was just eh in my opinion.

The story on the other
There was a great story within this book, however it was too closely related to the Vampire Diaries for my liking. Not that I didn't enjoy LJ Smiths series, but the similarities between the two were too much.

It really was not the best written work. I felt there were lots of gaps, where a lot more detail and background could have been filled. Furthermore, the story could have been drawn out more. For example, Zac initially meeting Katrin, to him asking Gabby for help and them calling the vampire
