this book was fantastic. it had great instructions for how to make each style of quilt. and, before each set of instructions, it had a brief history of that quilt style--its influences, significance for amish culture, its region, etc. the book also included some 1-2 page text boxes with descriptions of elements of amish life such as marriage, religion, migration, etc. it was all really interesting.
