Home at last

Sydney James knew she seemed like the consummate single girl, what with the enviable job in the public eye, and a reality TV show to boot. But the former foster child had never had a place to call home, or anyone to call family. Her strategy: leave before you can get left. So when she met irresistible filmmaker Miles Mercer, she thought, Maybe I don't have to r

Very good book. Sydney has been in Texas for several years working with her friends' catering business and their new tv show. She's starting to feel like she needs to move on, that she's becoming too attached and that makes her nervous. Miles has come home to Celebration to fill in as director for the show and visit with his family before heading back to California. Meeting Sydney causes him to take a new look at what he wants out of life. Unfortunately she already has one foot out the door.

Read to fulfill the "author with your initials" category of the 2015 Ultimate Reading Challenge (I took it one further and chose " author with your initials AND last name").

This book is exactly what you would expect from a Harlequin romance. If you like Harlequins, you will like this one; if you don't, well ...

Sydney James and Miles Mercer IV meet cute when he shows up as her temporary boss. Sydney, who has a British accent, works as a PR agent for a small catering company that is ALSO a reality

Loved that "can't take their eyes off each other" chemistry that shines forth between Sydney and Miles. The contest for Celebration's Bride with all it's drama and pitfalls is So Reality TV real, "first cousin of the horror genre" laugh out loud funny! Between the family dynamics with Miles and the multitude of roadblocks that Sydney sets up along the way, you will be engaged in this storyline for the entire book.

Can't wait to read Celebration's Family next!!!

I really enjoyed Celebration's Bride. I loved the interaction between the hero and heroine and especially liked that they shared their backgrounds with each other. I liked the setting, the reality show, which I haven't read before. You can see that Nancy Robards Thompson knows what she's talking about.

"Thompson's reality TV show setup rocks the pages with its quirky cast. Her couple's imperfections make them realistic and alluring, and their love scenes are provocative and passionate." RT Book Reviews, rated 4 1/2 stars

I liked this, but the series feels busy. Along with the romance, we have the catering business (woefully ignored in this outing), the friends (also too little), the reality show and the royal job offer. It might be too much. I would have liked it better if there had been a little less.
