“The Kindle Publishing Bible: How To Sell More Kindle Ebooks On Amazon” by Tom Corson-Knowles is one of the many new books on how to sell and make money on Kindle. I've read a few of these, from terrible to decent. I but this book in the decent category. I don't know if I'd really call it a “Bible” because when I think of Bibles I think of big complete books that cover just about everything. I don't think this book fits that bill. However, I do think the book provides some very good advice and ...more

I’ve read a few of these books on how to market on Amazon. Before I read this book I struggled with some of the techniques the author recommends. In that way, very few of the suggestions in this book are new: title, keywords, tags, description, cover, reviews… Of course I know I need these for successful marketing.

What this book offers, hands down, is superior step-by-step guidance on how to get there, including giving some excellent websites that offer assistance.

I may skim some of the other

There's information in this book I haven't seen in any other book on Kindle publishing, presented in a way that's easy to understand and apply. He isn't at all car-salesmanish and doesn't suggest anything sleazy or unethical. Highly recommended.

I started reading this book with some skepticism. The author had somehow found my email and had requested a review. Normally, I wouldn’t have accepted, but it just so happened I was interested in publishing through Kindle, and I might have ended up reading the book even if Mr. Corson-Knowles hadn’t contacted me.

This book does everything right. It caught my interest from the very first paragraph. I wasn’t expecting to find new or even particularly useful information, but I was pleasantly surprise

With any how-to guide, I judge how good the book is by the number of notations and bookmarks I make on my Kindle. This book by Tom Corson-Knowles provided lots of very useful ideas and concrete action plans. I found the book to be easily read, with lots of follow up notes for me to plan my own marketing strategies on Kindle. In a very concise manner, this guide outlines the steps needed to improve the sales of your Kindle book and also some new ideas on things you may have not known about or ...more

I received a copy in a Goodreads giveaway. Thank you for the copy.

While there are some obvious topics, such as the importance of a good cover, title, and description; it goes far beyond those. It discusses how to effectively market your new book. This is a topic that all indie authors really really need help with.
These topics include Amazon's KDP, categories and keywords. He explains how to optimize these to improve your book's ranking. There is also a series of lists of free ways to promote you

Formatting explained by a non-pro formatter

Holy crap, is there a lot of extraneous steps in this! Precisely because it was written by someone who doesn't do this professionally, I'd guess, but is putting down how THEY have figured out how to do things.

Take it from an actual 20+ year professional desktop publisher that to get plain text into your Word doc--from wherever--all you really need to do is right click and select 'Paste Special', then 'Paste as Unformatted Text'. It strips all the extra

The Kindle Publishing Bible is, by far, the most helpful promotion guide I've read for self-published writer's yet. I get so frustrated with books that promise "I can help you sell books!" only to say that you must be an expert in your field with established credentials or spend thousands of dollars to hire out publicity. Most of the guides out there are very misleading, but not so here. Tom writes for normal, everyday people trying to make their dream of being a published author come true ...more

I honestly wasn't really expecting much out of this before I began reading. However, the author did a good job conveying some helpful information in a manner than anyone can follow. I was surprised to learn of a few things I hadn't seen or heard of before when maximizing ways to sell your books.

My one complaint is that I feel the book would most benefit those writing non-fiction over those writing fiction. I think a little more information on how to aid fiction writers (maybe even brea

I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. I started to just flip through it after receiving it but became so interested that I sat down and read it all. That really took me by surprise since it is a sort of help/reference type book.

This is a gold-mine of a book!

It is a must-have if you want your book sales to surge...because it is chock-full of extremely easy and useful tools that you can start to use immediately.

This book somehow jolted me out of my "writer's block" as I beg

The author Tom Corson-Knowles really knew well in this field. This book suits for a starter and intermediate author who want to have high sales from his or her book. I love the tips and tricks that he provides in his book, for example, setting the promotion and how to prepare before it reaches the free promotion date. We can do press release and post in free book submission websites. The author provides the sources of those useful websites that we can actually use to promote our books. Thank ...more

This book was helpful as a first time author/publisher on the Kindle platform. The author had some helpful tips around using social media for marketing. As for the quality of the book, it felt like much of the material was cut and paste and when you got to the real meat of the content, you had to access a link to the author's website. This was couched as a way to keep you in touch with his latest recommendations, but I saw it as a way to avoid updating the book as information changed.

I've been publishing Kindle books for more than a year now. Trust me, if you follow the steps in this book, you'll save yourself a lot of grief. You may want to modify the formatting for your own needs (for instance, the books I publish have a TON of very big photo files so the simple way of inserting them described in this book isn't the best for me) but this is a great starting point and basic method. It's brief and to the point -- boom, boom, boom, and your book will be published!

Tom is very knowledgeable about kindle and his background information is very helpful. I found it very helpful and thought provoking. I am relatively new to writing and have a lot to learn and more of it will come from him as he is direct and his thoughts are complete.

The book covers all the aspects of formatting your book for the kindle publishing platform. It uses Microsoft Word as the basis for how to format. It is short and gets the job done.

I wish it would have gone into some of the other options using software that creates the kindle opf and ncx files.
