Sometimes we know we should leave well enough alone, but like a train wreck about to happen, we just can’t look away. In my review of Carl Weber’s Big Girl’s Do Cry, I wrote the following:

"What really would have set this book over the top for me, and I was actually waiting for it to happen, was for Leon to be revealed as Big Poppa. Now that would have been a mess. The third installment, “Torn Between Two Lovers” will deal with Lorraine, her husband, and her new love Michael. Not sure that Mr. W

Why do I keep doing this to myself? This novel was definitely a guilty pleasure...except without much pleasure. This third installment of the BIG GIRLS DO CRY Series was a disappointment. Although the ending was meant to be a shocker,I could see it coming from a billion miles away. And though it was predictable, it somehow managed to be farfetched at the same time. Figure that one out. I don't want to be rude, because Mr. Weber is a successful published author but the ending doesn't just throw y ...more

The sequel to Big Girls Do Cry is the hottest thing of the year!!!!! Torn Between Two Lovers has the same characters returning and bringing their drama back with them. Loraine, her husband Leon and her ex-lover Micheal, Jerome and Big Poppa and stalker Peter, and their friend Egypt has you rocking in your seat for the entire book! Make sure that you have enough time on your hands bcause this can easily be read in less than 24 hours! Too hot, too exciting!!!!!!

After realizing in Big Girls Do Cry that her best friend Jerome secretly and single handedly plotted and executed the destruction of her marriage, Lorraine is heartbroken that she was duped into starting a new romance and kicking hubby Leon to the curb. Luckily their divorce is not finalized before Jerome's scheming was brought to the light and never mind the fact that she has already given her heart to an old childhood pal, pretty boy Michael, Lorraine immediately decides to give her marriage a ...more

Damn, damn, damn....Weber knows how to write some drama. Loraine, Jerome, Peter, Michael, and Leon are in some tangled webs and there is no telling who is going to get caught up. I never saw the ending coming (well it crossed my mind but I didn't want to go there). I thought the first part was good (Big Girls Do Cry) this one was ten times better. You don't have to read the first one to get the background story as he quickly recaps early on but it defintely will connect all the crazy dots. Now I ...more

WTF?!!! A coworker recommended this and went on and on about how shocking and suspenseful it was. Is it just me or were there no other choices of who Big Papa could be?! I'm starting to wonder if my taste is changing as I get older because things that might have appealed to me 20 yrs ago ain't cutting it now. And the ending?! OMG! Whatever, this wasn't a hit for me. I guess I missed what all the rage was about. I'm hearing the same thing with The Man in 3B and I'm leery about getting it now.

I didn't get a chance to read the first two but I'm kind of glad I didn't. Although I love Weber, this book just didn't do it for me. I felt like the ending was rushed and thrown together and for Loraine to end up with Michael ??? Like... I don't know.

It took Loraine to find out that her husband was cheating on her for more than half of their marriage to decide to be with Michael.. If I was him I wouldn't want it; if your not first then your last but I guess once your in love, logics becomes le

When I figured out who Big Poppa was I literally screamed!!!!! Then I back tracked this book and Big Girls Do Cry to see how I could have missed any clues!!!!!! I really enjoyed this story, it was short and drama filled!! I just don't like when Weber uses phrases like "it's nothing you can do" instead of "there's nothing I can do". That just gets on my last nerve! I live in the south and the people here talk like that. I'm not sure if Weber's way isn't grammatically correct but it just sounds st ...more

In this book, the perspectives are from Leon, Michael, Jerome, and Lorraine. From the title and the previous book, I thought that Lorraine was the one that was going to be torn between two lovers. This title applies to all of them in some way. Leon is continuing therapy and learning more disturbing this about his past; Jerome is still being stalked by Peter; and Lorraine still loves Michael even though she and Leon are trying to make their marraige work. It was a page turner. It's shorter than B ...more

"Torn Between Two Lovers" by Carl Weber ...

Carl Weber is one of my favorite authors. All of the books I have read have brought jaw dropping drama. The characters were brought back from where the book left of in Big Girls Do Cry. Once again it with any of Carl Weber's book was a page turning non-stop drama from beginning to end. I am more than looking forward to the release of Choir Director to see what more drama Weber brings in James,TK and Monique

This book is part of a series. It is hot, steamy, complex and exciting. A sister has a man and another one takes him away, more like steals. There is parental drama, sister drama and friendship drama. No doubt this book is all about drama! Naturally, with Carl Weber writing this book you should know you're definitely going to your monies worth and then some.

I read this book for a book club. It's the second book by this author that we've read, and only slightly better than the first "The Man in 3B".

I'm a little surprised that theses books are available in the public library, as they read like "Letters to Penthouse"! Well past a "smutty" or "R" rating, for sure.

The sex hook ups in the story were so many and so complicated, that I drew a chart with arrows connecting partners, with M for married and A for affair. "Hand me another piece of paper", one j

Very engaging and had a twist. I liked it a lot. I wish it was longer.

Is it possible to love two people at the same time?

This was a good book. The surprises and twists had me on edge. Great title for this book. The title definitely makes so much sense after reading the entire book. Lorain was a married woman who loved her husband and her lover. Lorain was no longer friends with Jerome after he tried to destroy their marriage. Jerome's part in this book was eventful, shocking, yet so unimaginable. I recommend this book to fans of Carl Weber and anyone who likes to

Torn between two lovers was definitely an exciting read. I enjoyed the drama between the main characters Loraine and Leon. The revelation at the end about Leon and what Jerome did was unexpected. Loraine’s friend Jerome had a lot to deal with in this story and Carl Weber was able to bring emotion about his situations to the forefront. I enjoyed this novel and look forward to reading more from Carl Weber!

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I like the fact that it was a quick read. Weber had already established his characters in Big Girls Do Cry. It was a wrap in this book. Lorraine, Jerome, Leon, and Michael are all a hot mess!

My last status update said this book did not have the "pull" as the other two books did; however, as I got to the last 1/3 of the book I was shell shocked.

Talk about weaving a story. Totally blown away by the where this story began to where it ended. Carl Weber, you have some mad story weaving skills.

"Another great book by Carl Weber. This book leaves off where the last, "Big Girls Do Cry," left off. So now Loraine is torn between Michael and her husband. She wants to let Michael go but something in her aches for his touch. Jerome is Jerome, what can I say. The book is filled with sex, drama, lies and more drama. With an ending that I don't think that anyone was expecting. If you are a Carl Weber fan you will not be disappointed. It's not necessary that you read the two books prior to unders ...more

This book was off the chain with drama and a surprise ending. Lorraine made her choice. Peter got what was coming to him. Jerome shocked me. He was anything buy Lorraine's friend. I won't spoil it for those who haven't read the book. Just know Carl Weber didn't disappoint. Whew!!!!!

I think if I would've read big girls don't cry, I probably would've understood the story better. Certain parts of the story was a little confusing but the ending was a surprise indeed.

Such a great book

So many twist and turns in this book that I couldn't put it down. This is a great read. Remember to read all three books.

It was ok, I feel that this book was rushed, but it closed a lot of doors. Hopefully we will write again about the adventures of the book club!

I always think the mark of a good book is when it has me willing to sneak it into the bathroom at work underneath my shirt just so I don't have to stop reading it, and it's a bonus when there are twists and turns in there that I didn't expect. That's what happened in 'Torn Between Two Lovers'; just when I thought I knew what was happening, it proved me wrong. I went through stages where I disliked each and every one of the main characters. Another sign of a good book.
This will be added to the a

OH MY GAWD. I just finished reading this and my mouth is just wide open on the floor with all these gnats and flies trying to get in. How in the hell did he? did they?... Carl Honey... I didn't know who to be mad at and who to cheer for in this one. Everybody is crazy and full of deceit. Talking about a Charlottes web of twists. Im still trying to process this one. AWESOME Series Finale!

It was a really good book. I read it in about a day. The ending was a total shocker!

It started out a little slow for me and I must admin, I did not read the other two before it, Something on the Side and Big Girls Do Cry, but after reading this and laughing my head off and staying up all night just to find out who Big Poppa was and the antics of Jerome, I went out and brought all of his books and his latest. I was happy to meet him at Books A Milliion in Charleston, SC and he signed my book as well as took a picture with me. It was like hearing Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy at th ...more
