*Contains mild film spoilers!*

Man of Steel was my most anticipated film of 2013 (along with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, of course), it's my favourite film of the year and so far I've seen it six times. I'm writing this review as I listen to the amazing score soundtrack by Hans Zimmer and, at this moment in time, I firmly believe I'm living on a planet called Krypton. But enough of that (ahem), because I need to talk about this book, Man of Steel: Inside the Legendary World of Superman.

I wasn't very impressed by this Man of Steel art book. It's not bad but it's not that good either.

There aren't many character designs. Strangely, Zod's the only character with art featuring various designs. The rest of the characters, including Superman, are just shown with one or two illustrations or photos. The designs are the finalised ones. There's nothing on Superman's new suit besides the brief mention by director Zack Synder that underwear outside is no longer

Fans of "Man of Steel" should enjoy this book. It primarily focuses on the visual aspects of the film -- director Zack Snyder and his design team really do a great job of creating a unique-looking movie, so it's nice to have a book on the subject.

It's worth noting that more than 50% of the book is designated to all things Krypton (even though only 20-30 min of the movie are spent there). To be fair, the

Didn't actually provide much insight into the making of the movie.

The casting section talked a bit about the characters and the actors who played them, but not much in the way of realizing them on screen or how their design/presentation changed over the planning/production process.

There's a good chunk of concept art throughout, but there are also plenty of production stills and movie caps—some of which are just plain ugly with how low-res they are.

A noticeable absence: it's made mention of Snyde

As a massive Superman fan I couldn't wait to see this book and see how they created the admittedly controversial movie directed by Zack Snyder.

What we have here is a good but not great look at the movie. One of the strangest things I've noticed about the book is that there's next to no mention of the new suit and how they came to the new design.

There are loads of bits about Krypton (one of the best parts of the book by far), some great parts about General Zod and much more but the parts that are

Superman has always been one of my favorite heroes from all times (after Batman), so when I saw this book in the bookstore, I just HAD to buy it. I managed to get the Brazilian Portuguese version of it, and this happens to be the only cause to which I didn't rate it with 5 stars: there are several parts of the book that were poorly translated and some passages were not correctly edited (not to mention the lack of care with the pages. Some of them were glued together and when I managed to ...more

This book written by Daniel Wallace is a good look behind the scenes of the new Superman movie, "Man of Steel," which came out in 2013.

It is quite a gorgeous book. The actual book's cover is one of the best covers I have ever seen on a book. In fact, the book is filled with artwork, movie scenes and pre-movie illustrations of aspects of the movie. While some may have problems with the movie's depiction of Superman, this book steers very clear of controversy and focuses on the artwork and story

I've been trying to avoid 'spur of the moment' library books. I have so many unread books at home that I'd like to put a dent in! But I saw this movie twice this summer and didn't pay for either time. First I saw it on a free ticket from Walmart, then Chris took me to see it on the 4th of July. This is an OK coffee table book. I would have preferred more photos from the movie than concept art. It also seemed to spend more time on Krypton than the movie did.

Read this during a trip to the boojstore; makes me love the film even more. Anyone who blithely insists that MoS is "devoid of hope" can bite me.

I love "making of" books and this one didn't let me down. Great insider stuff. You may not have loved their vision, but you cannot argue that the filmmakers had one!

Love the visuals. So much of the book establishes the look of Krypton and it's still a small part of the film.
