What a fantastic book. Everything I had hoped for. Y'all are just lucky that I don't back up right now, move to Chicago and become a Rebecca Hasselbach groupie!

In all seriousness, this book might have been better titled "Archaic Proto-Semitic: Case, etc.". She does deal with case, but much of the effect is extended toward reconstructing the proto-language and defending methodologies to do so. What makes her such an incredible author is her command of general linguistic literature. Comrie gets al
