If you're looking for a book as good as The Fault in Our Stars, don't buy this! You'll be disappointed. In fact, the entire series is a terrible disappointment to me. It starts out promising, but if you're looking for a book that delves into the emotions of a young gay teenager, you won't find it here. Book 1 starts out promising and sets you up for the story, but it ends abruptly so it's not even worth buying by itself. This series of three 'episodes' is surely not written by the John Green of THE FAULT IN OUR STARS fame. Although the narrative is topical (gay son thrown out of home by stepdad, having to build a life and dealing with tragedy), the events plausible and the characters fascinating, the writing is atrocious. A good starting place to read if someone is coming out in your own life, or if you support the LGBTQ community and want to see the kinds of suffering and bullying they endure; even though this one has a happy ending, many do not.
