PERSONAL RESPONSE
STAT was, all around, probably my favorite book I've read, granted I haven't read that many books but it was just a great book. I rated this book five stars because it, basically, re-lived my life. It resembled my drive and dedication to be good at things in life. I could relate to this book very well because basketball is my favorite sport. I have done every exercise and activity Amar’e did to get better at basketball.

this book was good. i gave it 5 stars because i really liked it. i recommend this book to any one who likes sports books or basketball. this book is about how this kid works hard to be able to dunk.

Amar'e is preparing for another tournament, and spending so much time practicing that his father is grumbling a bit that he doesn't help with the family lawn care business. The group of kids in the newest tournament are not very nice-- and when one purposefully pokes Amar'e in the eye, it puts him off the court for several weeks and causes him to have to wear geeky looking goggles. Fast-paced, short chapters: highly recommend for 4th-5th grade reluctant readers, especially sports fans!

Stoudemire is deeply involved in philanthropic work including organizations like Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Phoenix area, the Each 1, Teach 1 Foundation, an organization founded by Stoudemire, which is devoted to supplying clean drinking water in Sierra Leone.
