Beautiful and lyrical account in the voice of the sea. The poems in the collection are brief for the most part, most under ten lines, but their cumulative effect is like the waves, building deeper and deeper. The sinuous lines on the page and the development of a lexicon all the sea’s own create a world that shifts and churns. Wonderful!

Colleague from Rainier Writing Workshop, resident of the San Juan Islands, friend--I knew I would love Jill's poetry. I was still surprised by the scope, my reading breath caught by images and descriptions. And it must be said that reading it while the Dvorak Cello Concerto was playing was precisely the right soundtrack.
