I found the book overall to be quite interesting - exploring the notion of "temple" briefly in human thinking, but especially in the history of Israel. It explores the temple as a heavenly ideal and historical reality. It looks at what the destruction of the temple meant to Jews but also what the corruption of the temple meant especially to groups like the Qumran community as recorded in the Dead Sea Scrolls.
