It was Lillie's 10th birthday and her Uncle Chris wanted her to be happy and feel special. He shows her his 1909 Benny the Penny and tells about the quest to find its value and the story he wrote when he was younger. This would be a cute story to read to 1st graders during the money unit in their curriculum.

Super cute book that has a good message for kids and adults alike. Would love to read this to my first grade class to introduce them to chapter books.

I won this book free through Goodreads First Reads.I enjoyed this book. This book is not only good for kids, but adults can learn from it also. This book teaches you to be yourself and that everybody is special. Kids go through this a lot growing up by trying to fit in, but this book teaches them that it is okay to be yourself.

Benny the Penny and the Big Secret is one of those rare children's books that combines great storytelling with a powerful, valuable message to children about their self-worth. Never preachy, it takes children along with Benny on an important journey of self-discovery that they can relate to, learn from, and enjoy. Great book!
