Recommends it for: Romance-readers and anyone looking for a breather!
Charmed is an emotional romantic novel, which takes you on a magical journey of love and sacrifice. Anastasia is a good witch who has the power to heal, but the cost she has to pay everytime she heals is very high. She takes the pain of others and experience it herself in order to relieve them. She is highly sensitive to emotions and cannot stand negative ones due to her fragile heart and her susceptible magic! After facing the pain of rejection from her love, she starts taking comfort

This is such a sweet story. Anastasia is the third of the Donovan cousins, and she is a healer and an empath. She is also a herbologist, and has a little online shop in things made with herbs. Lotions and oils, fragrances and teas. She was hurt very much by the man she thought to be in love with some years ago, and since then has kept her distance.
She loves working in the garden, growing her herbs and flowers, and harvesting them. To use her magical powers to make them work better, to help peop

I re-read quite a few Nora Roberts books in 2016. As you probably know, Nora Roberts has written a crazy amount of books, and I've read a lot of them (although not all). Some of her books aren't my favorite, but some I absolutely love. Charmed by Nora Roberts has always been a favorite, and after re-reading it, it still is.
What I Liked:

I loved the heroine, Ana. She's independent and strong, and happy with her life. Oh, and Ana is a witch, her whole family is, and she has a special talent. Sh

Typical paranormal, magic romance novel. Boy meets girl, they fall in love, they have a fight, they get back together, they live happily ever after. This one comes with a twist though, it's part of the Donovan legacy series, which means witches shown in a positive light, although I'm not thrilled about how they make witch mean Wicca when they are 2 completely different things, but I digress. Anyway, it's a cute, easy to read story with a few rather requisite steamy sex scenes, LOL. Light reading ...more

This is my favorite of the Donovan stories, so far. Anastasia seemed better fleshed out and her relationship with Boone made way more sense than the others did, I thought. It got a little manipulative near the end and I again didn't like the extended family dropping in for their obligatory threaten-the-boyfriend but in all, it was an enjoyable and quick read.

A note about Steamy: The steam level in this one was average for Nora Roberts.

I liked the magical element throughout the book, and enjoyed it.

It's always nice to return to old favorites, and revisiting Nora Roberts' Donovan Legacy leaves no disappointments.

I won't be spending a lot of time rehashing Charmed. But when you sit down to read a Nora novel, you are guaranteeing a happily ever after. Sometimes I need one of these to reset myself. Her formula is damn near perfect: strong woman meets man, there are internal struggles, they work it out, the end. But it's how they get through all that, that makes is sweet and lovely.

Sometimes a
Fascinating and irresistible, the mysterious Donovan cousins share a secret that's been handed down through the generations, a secret that sets them apart from ordinary beings.
Boone Sawyer never expected to move next door to a woman who looked like one of the fairy princesses he often wrote about. Anastasia Donovan had a serene kind of femininity that would baffle and allure any man who was still breathing and Boone was definitely breathing! Ana’s gift was for healing. Though her intriguing new

Ana was a very complying character for me. I knew she'll have a hidden quirk but I always knew she’s pliable. She's just too amiable to be anything else. I also wondered what her gift was. Morgana and Sebastian's gifts were easy to spot but Ana's was a mystery to me. I knew she couldn't just be brewing potions and such and when it turned out that she was an empath it kind of explained some things from the two other books. Ana was reserved but very giving to a fault which I found kind of ironic a ...more
This is my favorite of the Donovan Legacy so far. I loved Ana and Boone’s story. Boone is a widower with a 6-year-old daughter, Jessie. Jessie is precious and makes friends with everyone. One day she plants herself in Ana’s backyard to visit, and Ana’s life is never the same. This is how the reader is first introduced to Boone. Boone is a worried father and Jessie didn’t tell him where she was going. So he was a little out of sorts and has landed himself in the backyard of a woman he’s instantly ...more

Not my usual type of book but my mum read it and said I might like it, and as it's about witches I thought I'd try it. It's basically just a love story, and not much really happens until the end.

'When Boone Sawyer came into her life, bent on finding out the truth about her, Anastasia had to protect herself and her magic at all costs. She would keep her secrets whatever it took. Then she was confronted with a terrifying threat to everything she had learned to love. With a child's future at stake,

Firstly, I read this book in the published trilogy. I am a general fan of Nora Roberts; every now and again she rights a bland and boring romance (guy meets girl, angst, guy gets girl) but mostly her books are enthralling reads with riveting plots and interesting lead characters.

Charmed, with Boone and Ana, was enjoyable, but I didn't think it compared to books 1 & 2. The storyline was very predictable, guy meets girl and they like each other. The wiccan/non-wiccan relationship didn't strugg

Charmed is the third of the Donovan Legacy series by Nora Roberts. Anastasia Donovan is one of three cousins born to triplets married to triplets: the Donovan brothers married the Corrigan sisters. Anastasia is a witch whose gift is empathy and healing. When widower and fairy-tale author, Boone Sawyer moved with his six-year-old daughter, Jessie into the house next door to Anastasia, he was at first suspicious of this serenely feminine woman. Before long, however, he was in love. Anastasia was a ...more

Auc

So.... This was definitely better than Entranced (Donovan #2), however I should have given myself more time between the series. If you read Nora Roberts back to back to back, like I have... The equations start to show. Obviously NR had a fantastic database for romance equations but by the third book in the series it gets tired.

I felt like I couldn't enjoy this story line as much as the first because it was too predictable. That being said, I did prefer it to Sebastian's plot. I think that I'll r
Among the Donovan series I like this the most. It is really nice to see Anastasia to be a healer. I always have soft spot for people who heal others. This girl really needs a happy ending like her cousins and she got it in this book. I am charmed by her beauty in and out also by her strength.

It takes a great strength to be like her. On the other hand we have Boone who is a lovely man as well as a lovely father for Jessica. He can bewitched anyone with his charasmatic. I feel this story is really

O Legado dos Donovan 03
Nora Roberts

Roubou todas as cenas. Encantadora.

A sweet tale of the Donovan clan - this time centered on Ana and her next door neighbors Boone and Jessie. Boone is a widower who's come to California to make a fresh start. This was a fun, quick read and if it's a touch predictable, oh well I liked it anyway. Sometimes you want something light and fun - this was a perfect foil to the last book I read (an Alex Cross novel).

Time to finish up this series…on to Enchanted

Boone Sawyer is a reserved man. And he has the right to be. His wife died and left him with a daughter, Jessie. His successful carrier has woman chasing after him and his parents and parents in law wont stop pestering him about dating again. What better than to escape?

However Boone never expected to fall in love with his new neighbor or find out that what he write in his fantasy stories are not fantasy but reality. Does he allow himself to get sucked into the woman known as Anastasia Donovan or

Probably not one of the best by the author. Still worth reading for those looking for a light breezy romance with a sprinkling of magic for garnishing. Would have given it 3 and half. I must say its a miracle that Jessie did not turn out to be a spoilt brat for all the people who pamper her. I wonder what Ms Roberts would dream up as a love story for Jessie when she grows up. With a witch for a step-mom, and a fairy-tale writer for a father, it would be interesting if she were to fall for .... s ...more
Anastasia Donovan (cousin to Morgana and Sebastian) has the power of healing. When new neighbors move in next door, she quickly falls in love with Jessie, the young daughter of widower, Boone. Eventually, Ana and Boone engage in a romantic relationship but Anastasia's inability to be completely honest with Boone has consequences.

Overall-not as fun and engaging as Sebastian's book, but slightly better than Morgana's. Anastasia was a tad too weak for a female lead character and Boone did not have

Imádnivaló, szeretetre méltó, roppant aranyos történet. Sajnos akármilyen nyálasan hangzik, a sztori tényleg annyira kislányosan, kölyökkutyásan, önfeláldozóan, első szerelmesen bájos, hogy az rettenet! Miért is szeretem mégis?!

Anastasia Donovan, Ana, is an empathic witch of great power. Boone Sawyer is a widower and a gifted children's writer. He has a 6 yr. old daughter. They move cross country and end up being neighbors with Ana. It has been four years since Boone's wife has died and his is surprised to find how attracted he is to the beautiful herbalist and healer next door. Ana is also feeling the attraction but is wary of letting him into her Witch world. Really lovely story, great read.

“A star dawns in the night. Life through life, blood through blood to shine its light. Through love he was given the gift of birth, and from breath to death will walk the earth. The other gift comes through blood and bone, and is for him to take and own. Charm of the moon, power of the sun. Never forgetting an it harm done.” 1 likes
