She's not that kind of girl!

Veterinarian Jess Alexander doesn't have one-night stands with the best man at a coworker's wedding. But thirtysomething divorcée Jess is definitely in a rut that a night of reckless passion with a younger man just might break. And what better candidate than criminally good-looking Sean Paterson?

Being with Sean is exhilarating. But where could t

I was so lucky to read this as Emmie wrote it and I alternated between sighing over the sexy banter between the hero and heroine and laughing at the snappy dialogue. While they can't keep the sizzle from erupting between them, the hero and heroine, have to face some serious personal issues and discover just how much they need each other . . . I love a well-deserved happy ending.

You will not be disappointed with this book. A deeply satisfying, romantic, sexy and emotional read from beginning to e
Really 3,5...
Very sweet and interesting but I had issues with the hero's "childishness" and thought that their problems were resolved too fast.
The heroes are both interesting and realistic, but I felt it was missing 50 pages between the end and the epilogue. Or maybe it's just frustration talking because I did enjoy that story and wasn't ready to leave it yet! ;)
More of a 2 star. I didn't care for several aspects of most of the characters. I did enjoy the convention description. To me the characters were childish, immature, self-centered with glimpses of aspects that I enjoyed.

Loved the premise.

Good book. Jess isn't really comfortable at her coworker's wedding. Most of the guests are a lot younger than she is and she feels out of place. Just as she is thinking of leaving she is approached by the best man, Sean, who flirts a bit with her. He is younger than she is, but she's ready to step outside her comfort zone a little. After being with him she freaks out a bit and leaves, expecting never to see him again. He ends up staying in town for awhile and really wants to get to know her bett ...more

This Australian set romance is an unlikely one night stand’s evolution into something more.

I liked the professional side of things, Jess, a veterinarian as much in need of healing as her patients, and Sean, a genre author who laps up the worship of fans in lieu of the worship he’s never received from his parents.

Jess, reeling from a bad marriage, negatively overreacts at seemingly every turn, for instance, she’s so hung up on the age difference between her and Sean, that at one point she wonders

Just For Today is a story that won't stay with you just for today (pardon the pun). It's one of those books you'll think about down the track and remember just how lovely it was.

Jess is in her thirties, fresh from a divorce and not sure about re-entering the dating pool. Sean is the younger man, cocky and confident and very sure of the effect he has on the opposite sex. They meet at the wedding of her co-worker, Hailey to his brother, Rob. Sparks fly instantly and they have a hot night together.
(I won this novel through a Goodreads giveaway!)

During her employee/friend's wedding, Jess Alexander decides to have a one-night stand with the groom's brother (and best man), Sean. Then, the one-night stand catches up with her and things become deeper between her and Sean. Now the question becomes, will Jess be able to overcome past hurts (from previous relationships) to attempt having love with Sean?

Although I'm a huge fan of romance novels, I felt that this one was a bit lacking in certain as

This was an awesome read. I didn't want to put it down. I wanted to see how two people dealing with their own emotional issues would overcome their obstacles and attempt to try for a relationship. I love the character of Jess: strong in her professional life but confused and floundering with her personal life. And my first experience at a Comic Convention was somewhat similar to Jess's, so I could totally relate! And I loved the dogs!

Gorgeous read from Emmie Dark, I loved the premise of this story (one night turning into so much more) and the unlikely pairing of the hero and heroine. Emmie writes beautifully and creates a strong tension between her characters. Bonus points for the sparkly banter and great opening scene.
I liked that this was set in Australia, and I liked the premise as it was described in the blurb, however the execution didn't work for me. I found the pacing slow and the story wasn't overly compelling.

After years of writing press releases, employee newsletters and speeches for CEOs and politicians – none of which included any kind of kissing – Emmie Dark finally took to her laptop to write what she wanted to write. She was both amazed and delighted to discover that what came out was sexy, noble heroes who found themselves crossing paths with strong, determined heroines. And plenty of kissing.
