It's hard to know how to review this latest novel by Steve Venables. It's hard to categorise exactly what it is! It's in a very different vein to his previous work Ironbark.

Part murderous memoir, part heist story its matter of fact violence married to lashings of Venables's wit and humour reminded me a little of American Psycho or the movie Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. But only if those two works were set in South Wales with a thoroughly unreliable narrator who has a strong admiration for
