This work is poorly written and suffers from being a collection of disparate essays that have not been edited successfully to achieve thematic cohesion. The title suggests such a cohesion, but the meager attempts to stitch the chapters into a thematically related whole are so poorly executed, the book feels a bit like a con job, advertising itself as a coherent study but being only a disjointed collection of papers loosely connected by their relation to Cameroonian politics and society.
