Some writers know how to pack a lot of punch into their words, and Synithia Williams is one of them. I had Worth the Wait for quite sometime, and because I'm a little of a serial one-clicker, it got lost in the shuffle. And what a loss! I feel foolish for having been so late to the party, to be honest with you!

As the daughter of a preacher, Tasha Smith hasn't found being a virgin to be particularly problematic. Until now. Now she's staring down the barrel of turning 30 and can't seem to keep a r

I was intrigued by the premise of this book: a young African-American woman whose been saving herself for marriage gets tired of being rejected for being a virgin ("Every guy she dated was either overly fascinated to find a grown woman who was still a virgin, or ran away as if she carried the plague" [6]), and so decides to get rid of that annoying virginity by asking a player-type acquaintance to relieve her of it. Minor celebrity author and fitness coach Jared fits Tasha's bill to a T; when Ta ...more

This book was worth the wait of the time the author took to write this wonderful book! This book was so good I could not put it down Tasha and Jared's love story was wonderful. When I read the synopsis I thought I knew this would be a cheesy love story but it is not. This is a well rounded very interesting love story:Yes Tasha picks her friend Jared to take her virginity how many books have you found with that storyline right? This story is really different and really good so much more goes on t ...more

I adored this book. It made it to my keeper shelf for sure. Worth the Wait had everything going for it: good pacing, believable conflict, amazing hook, and excellent characterization. It was the characterization of the book’s heroine, Tasha, that put this book firmly on the keeper shelf. I looked up to her—found myself wishing I could be like her. She tackled serious real-life problems with a grace and strength I only dream about possessing. In the end, Worth the Wait was both entertaining and m ...more

My first read from this author and I really enjoyed it. It had it all super sexy love scenes, passion between Tasha and Jared, and of course the requisite family conflict. It was an interesting read from the first page to the last. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Tasha Smith is the quintessential “good girl.” A Preacher’s Kid who has been taught abstinence all her life, and the golden rule of saving her virginity for the marriage bed since she was old enough to know what sex was all about. Her hope had been to find a man who wanted her for more than just a romp in the hay, to be married and start a family, but all of the above somehow manages to elude her. Angie, her sister and most of Tasha’s other friends have managed to find love and settle down, but ...more

Worth the wait is a contemporary African American romantic read set in Columbia, South Carolina.

The story is about a young woman named Tasha, who is the daughter of a Baptist preacher. Tasha was raised to belief that sex outside of marriage was a sin and as such she had held on to her virginity in the hopes that she would soon find the right man to settle down with. After several disastrous dates she came to believe that her virginity was more of a curse than a blessing and as such she embarked

I absolutely LOVED this book. It was short, sweet and straight to the point.

What it's about
Tasha is a devout Christian who plans on losing her virginity on her wedding night but as she's about to turn 30 with no luck of finding 'The one' in sight (a girl's gotta do what she's got to do) she decides to just get the deed done and who better to do that than the town playboy Jared Patterson.

What a good book!!! I bought it yesterday morning and started reading it at lunch, then again on the Metro on my way home. I was supposed to come in from work, change clothes and exercise for about an hour, but when I tell you I could NOT put this book down! I kept saying one more chapter, just one more. I looked up and it was 8:15 and I was sitting on the side of my bed, still in my work clothes. That's when I know that a book is GOOD! From reading the blurb about the book, I thought I knew wha ...more

The first time I read the blurb for Worth the Wait by Synithia Williams, I decided to buy the book on the spot and I am so glad I did. The concept of Tasha losing her virginity to a player like Jared (who was too hot for my own good) sounded like a disaster from beginning to end, and it was. The drama of the situation made for a great romance.

Tasha’s naïveté into going into a purely sexual relationship with Jared was understandable, if not weird considering that she had saved her virginity for s

In Worth the Wait, Tasha is a woman who knows what she wants and she is not afraid to go after it. Jared is the successful playboy that is not ready for a woman like Tasha. Tasha, as thirty-something virgin, decides that she has been a virgin too long and what better way to lose her virginity than to a fine, experienced playboy. As the plot of the book developed, I could not help but think this cannot end well for Tasha and wonder just how juicy their affair would become. I found myself wonderin ...more

Tasha Smith has been keeping herself for the man she'll marry someday. Except she hasn't found him yet and the men she has found don't want to hand around waiting for her to decide if he's "the one." So she decides to find the perfect one-night stand and get her first experience out of the way.

She picks Jared Patterson, whose fitness and health food enterprise has made him very successful in business and whose smoldering good looks have made him even more successful with women. But the one-nigh

Really enjoyed this one! Loved the connection between Tasha and Jared.
Was enjoyable reading about them trying to convince themselves that it was 'only casual' and then coming to the realization that there was more between them. also really loved that Jared went out of his way to make the moment special for Tasha even though she wasn't expecting it. We saw both their struggles in coming to terms with the fact that they cared for each other. would have loved to see how Jared reconnected with his

I just loved this book. Tasha and Jared are both likeable characters. Tasha is strong and knows what she wants. Jared is a player but not a jerk about it. They have tons of chemistry from the beginning, and then emotions get involved. You can see that the situation is not going to work out as planned. As the story unfolded, I could not put it down. If you have read You Can't Plan Love, you will recognize some of the characters, as Jared is Malcolm's brother. That was fun. This is a smart story w ...more
We Belong Together by Mariah Carey kept playing in my head while reading this book because the characters were being stubborn, even though they always made their way back to each other. They both thought they knew what they wanted. But fate always intervenes. It was a cute love story, with some VERY steamy scenes. It could have gotten more stars if I had gotten a better ending or at least an epilogue. Think I will check out Synthia Williams in the future. ;p

Recommended for contemporary romance l
This book took me on an emotional roller coaster. From the hot and steamy parts to the fragile emotions of both Tasha and Jared. I sympathized with Jared's anger towards his mother and Tasha's anguish living with her "condition" and the consequences of her choice to "cure" it. And yes, there were times that I wanted to reach through the book and choke Jared, but I was rooting for him towards the end.

This is my second read by this author and I haven't been disappointed yet! Anxiously awaiting her

Good story

OMG, I'm not sure where to start. I have hollered and cursed like these characters were real. To say I enjoyed would be an understatement. I like when scenes leave me smiling and there was plenty.

But it also had a few scenes that should have been edited because either they pissed me off or didn't serve a purpose (IMO). Such as the hero's mother and the heroine's dad. I kept screaming come on she's 30 years old.

I would definitely recommend and reread. I would just skip those scenes I d

Worth the Wait is a wonderful story about a woman who decides to make some life changing decisions about her vow of purity until marriage. Synithia Williams paints a wonderful heroine with credible reasons for the decisions she makes, then deals with the conflicting emotions that mount as a result. Just when I thought I had the story figured out, she threw in one surprise after another. And there's a really hot hero that starts out a player, and ends up a pretty great guy. This is another great book by this author. Tasha and Jared's story was a beautiful story. Talk about a playboy falling hard. Jared was the ultimate playboy and he fell hard. It was great catching up with the people from the first book and I look forward to reading more from this author. I have a feeling that Devin and Shayla will get their own story. I hope so. There is something there between those two.

May not come when you want it ,but always on time

Enjoyed this book it goes to show you should not go into things before you check yourself out do it right even though it worked out for Tasha and Jared it doesn't always both of them were missing the greatest thing of all LOVE until they found each other.

This was good. Some components of the characters were wonderful, while other components made me side eye Jared and Tasha. Good overall. Author's writing style is good, though I did come across many editing issues.

Shelves: romance

The first half of this kind of dragged for me, but the second half really kept me hooked, so I'm glad I stuck with it. The whole discussing adult women's virginity at the dinner table really turned me off, though. Do people really do that?

This is the third book I've read by Synithia Williams and I loved it. The other books were A Heart to Heal and Just my Type, and I must say, Worth the Wait is much better. This book has romance, angst and smoking hot sex.

This is the 1st book I read by Synithia Williams. I didn't like Tasha I thought she was immature. I feel she should have taken her virginity more serious. I didn't like Jared either I feel he only wanted sex from Tasha. I wish this story had more of a romantic feel instead of sexual feel.
