Cet écrivain du néant, cet " ...more

"Between the years 1896 and 1899, an unhappy bewildered boy wrote poems in Montreal before succumbing to madness."

I hardly like any poems, and I have never in my life read a poetry book before. I'm not planning to read any after this one. This exception was made for Nelligan himself, as I wanted to read into his life. I was able to do so. I found a Lucille too, what are the odds? It got hard at times, considering the fact that he has a couple of topics he likes to talk about and certain favourit

Émile Nelligan (December 24, 1879 - November 18, 1941) was a francophone poet from Quebec, Canada.

A follower of Symbolism, his poetry was profoundly influenced by Octave Crémazie, Louis Fréchette, Charles Baudelaire, Paul Verlaine, Georges Rodenbach, Maurice Rollinat and Edgar Allan Poe. A precocious talent like Arthur Rimbaud, his first poems were published in Montreal when he was 16 years old.
