Pretty good. There is a belief in Colleen’s family that you can recognize your mate through love at first sight if you’re wearing a specific necklace considered a family heirloom. Colleen holds this belief all her life. That is the reason, although she would not admit it, that she is still single at the age of 30. I really liked that about her. She definitely ignores other men, waiting only for her true love. But it seems that this is getting in her way of giving Jack a chance.

Sweet tale about Colleen who believes all the women in her family will fall in love - at first sight. All thanks to a lucky amulet, which Colleen loses and is returned by Saint Nicolas. A charming tale, read in a couple of hours, but none the worse for that. I can see me re-reading it closer to Christmas, just to enhance the magic of the season.

2 1/2 This wasn't exactly a novella, but it wasn't exactly a full length novel, and I assume it was rushed out for the 'great Christmas book rip-off' which is exploding in E-book Land as there were several spelling and grammar mistakes one would expect to not be in a published/edited book. It involves secret Santa gifts and love at first sight necklaces and horses and ice skating and whatnot. This book won't offend anyone I should think, but I doubt it would remain in anyone's memory either.
