Coming out of the depths of her pain, Mary succeeds in conveying to anyone who has been or is in her situation of abuse that there is definitely hope. She has proven that even if you do everything you can to please the person you love - the person who is so cruel, you can’t possibly succeed because the problem lies with them, not you.
