If the world’s longest ear hair, a woman whose legs were broken by a flying pig, a college student who got credit for dressing like a lobster and living in a box for three months, and a man who patented a method for determining the sex of spinach plants all ended up in the same place, what would the result be? Why, another edition of the Bathroom Reader, of course! The ser...more

The Uncle John's Bathroom Reader series is a treasure trove of marginally useful facts and this one is no different. Here are some examples of the facts within:

Another fun, factoid-filled collection from the BRI (Bathroom Reader's Institute) - perfect for people who don't have a lot of time to just read, these little one-two pagers can be very enjoyable. Not just for the bathroom! ;)

Recommends it for: Bathroom readers and trivia addicts.
Uncle John's Bathroom Readers are fantastic books full of trivia, bits of history, science, philosophy, and general weirdness.

Except that this last book, The Wonderful World of Odd, is filled entirely with general weirdness. And it is Wonderful.

Uncle John's series are well-researched and as up to date as possible, including recent stories as well as classics and this book matches any others in the series for quality.

First, let me just clarify that although this book is billed as a bathroom reader, that's not where I read it.

Now, about the book. It's full of fascinating oddities that everyone in my family has dabbled in. This is a good book to leave out to read when you only have a moment here and a moment there to read. Really, eye-popping information. (I wish it didn't say it was a bathroom reader.)

Let this one book stand in for all of Uncle John's. I have every book BRI has published. They are fantastic factoid books. This one is particularly neato, if a bit short.
