This book changed the way I read the Book of Mormon, dare I say it changed my life. Upon returning from the Manti pageant I pondered the lifes of both Mormon and Moroni. So I went to the best place for knowledge on everything and turned to google. I stumbled upon Dr. Ainsworths site for this book which asked many questions that caught my attention. Many of the evidences, insights and suggestions he gives in this book are great but when he suggested that the People of Ammon may be in relation to...more

Despite the fact that the author, Jerry L. Ainsworth, is not a professional archaeologist or historian of pre-Columbian Meso-American history and culture, his understanding of their histories is pretty well-adapted; for an amateur. While I had some doubts pertaining to the veracity of his narrations, accounts, and descriptions, I would definitely recommend any "believer", "non-believer", or "curious-bystander" to pick up a copy, and read it for themselves. Ainsworth has had personal experience w...more

This was very interesting--a little hard to get into at the beginning. He has some very interesting theories, and has some great experiences in his exploration of central America. He also includes pictures of some very interesting artifacts. A lot of his ideas make a lot of sense.

I REALLY enjoyed this book. Some may think his conclusions are far-fetched, but he does back them up with scripture and archealogical findings. Very readable. Beautiful pictures. Great coffee table book as well as interesting Book of Mormon archealogy.

The writing was like a history book, but still I liked how he put the maps together in such a way you could visualize what took place with Moroni and Mormon even if the maps are not accurate.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. The first few chapters are rambling, first-person accounts of the author's travels to Mayan ruins in Mexico and Central America, but he starts to pick up steam when he discusses Book of Mormon geography. The book is basically the author saying, "Here is some cool archeological stuff I've found and researched, and here is how I interpret it in context of the Book of Mormon." While I think he stretches his conclusions a bit from time to time, he mak...more

It's about possible locations for BOM events in Mormon and Moroni's lives.

Super interesting. I gained a much bigger appreciation for Mormon and Moroni as men and as prophets and for their sacrifices for us today. It didn't really increase my testimony of the Book of Mormon or anything, but it was fun to think about.

"I love this book. Nevermind that the academic, professional and scholarly communities scoff at attempts to locate Book of Mormon sites to actual present day sites. This book is just FUN! Some interesting theries in this book are fun to contemplate."

Very interesting...I keep going to my scriptures to see how I've missed some of these things. Archeology has always interested me. Read this, it's interesting.

Caused me to re-examine some of my beliefs about the historical figures in the Book of Mormon. Gave some great insights.
