Nice little book on developing for mobile phones. This one was written before Android was released and before the iPhone store went up, so its focus is on markup optimized for mobile devices and SMS. There is plenty of example code, mostly PHP.

Despite being a bit behind the times (are we not all in some way left behind?) this book explains a lot about how to develop something that targets devices that vary widely in screen size, resolution, and rendering capabilities.

Still working my way through this one, but thought I should put together a few initial comments. [Edit: Didn't actually finish this one as it took me a while to get through what I did and by then iPhone/Android had really come to prominence and looked more likely than a 'normal' phone for the project I bought this for, and this book is really too old and so doesn't look at smartphones at all. Otherwise, the following comments stand - there's still some useful stuff in there.]
