Clients have included Chase Manhattan Bank, VISA, HP, SWIFT, and the governments of the United States, Brazil, and Malaysia.

He is the author of Optimizing Informix Applications and Microsoft SQL Server: Planning and Building a High Performance Database. He has also written numerous articles on technical and professional services topics.

This is a very high level explanation of what Hadoop is but still a good book if you are looking to learn the concepts of big data

High level overview of Hadoop if you don't already know something. I'd heard several presentations on Hadoop and didn't find out anything new in this book.

This edited version is so high level -- just read Wikipedia, bro.
