Cool because the author gives recipe ideas on how to use the wild foods you just foraged. It's more likely to be disappointing to use a wild food in place of a cultivated fruit or vegetable than to use it in a recipe that was designed for it, by a person who's been foraging (and therefore eating) the plant for years.

Uncool because Steve Brill is one of those vegan-types who must include in every recipe either a tofu "dairy analog", an additional wild food I haven't collected, or expensive ingred

I would have liked pictures (I'm that kind of cook book girl)and there weren't enough recipes using the wild food I could find. Maybe more info about what to look for would have been nice. I'll probably look at it again some time, but for now I think I'll just use the foods I recognize in the recipes I already cook.

Thought the recipes were mostly aspirational and not practical. This book wasn't a guide to identifing wild foods. No color pictures or even drawings of the plants. Lots of political mumbo-jumbo and half-baked non-scientific advice about health. Pathetic.
